Prince Harry has made a heartfelt change to the way money from a fund honoring Princess Diana is donated, choosing a conservation charity that holds a special place in his family’s story.

After ending his relationship with Sentebale in 2025, Harry redirected his share of annual proceeds from The Diana Fund to Elephants Without Borders — an organization he and Meghan Markle have been connected to for years.

And what happened next gave the donation an unexpectedly personal twist.

Two elephants in Botswana were given the names Archie and Lili, after Harry and Meghan’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The gesture was made possible after Harry’s donation helped Elephants Without Borders fit satellite-tracking collars to the animals, allowing researchers to follow their movements across Botswana’s Okavango Delta.

Even more touching? Archie and Lilibet reportedly helped choose the colors of the elephants’ collars.

Archie chose blue, while Lilibet selected purple.

The connection between Harry and the charity stretches back years. He has long spoken about his love for Botswana and its wildlife, and in 2017, he took Meghan to the country during their early relationship, where they participated in elephant conservation work.

The couple’s connection with the organization continued after their marriage. Meghan later narrated the 2020 Disney documentary Elephant and donated her fee to Elephants Without Borders.

Now, the charity says Harry’s support is helping create a new connection between his children and the place that has meant so much to their parents.

The donation reportedly amounted to around $7,369 in 2025, with the charity’s founder describing receiving Harry’s portion of the Diana Fund as a “tremendous honour.”

The move also carries an emotional connection to Princess Diana.

Harry has increasingly found ways to keep his late mother’s memory connected to his own children, despite Diana never having the opportunity to meet Archie or Lilibet.
