A Tipping Point contestant left viewers baffled after failing to answer what many considered a straightforward question about UK general elections—only to walk away with the show’s £10,000 jackpot.
Danny found himself in the spotlight during Thursday’s episode of the Ben Shephard-hosted ITV quiz show after being handed a question by his teammate during the tense third round.
Ben asked: “What day of the week are general elections usually held in the UK?”
Danny admitted he was taking a complete guess before giving his answer as Wednesday.

The response quickly sparked a reaction from viewers, many of whom were surprised that he did not know the answer.
One viewer fumed: “HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW THAT GENERAL ELECTIONS ARE HELD ON THURSDAYS!!!!!”
Another posted: “You don’t know what day of the week general elections are held?! #tippingpoint.”
A third simply wrote: “Thursday ffs! #TippingPoint.”
But the wrong answer ultimately proved to be little more than a blip for Danny.

He continued through the round and successfully made it to the final, where he had a chance to win the show’s coveted jackpot.
With just three counters remaining, Danny watched anxiously as one finally dropped into the winning zone, securing an incredible £10,000 prize.
Overwhelmed by the result, Danny immediately began thinking about what he could do with the money.
“There’s so much I can do with that, and all the boys at home will be screaming for new boots!” he said.
Ben was quick to point out one obvious beneficiary of the windfall, telling him: “Your football team will benefit massively!”
The presenter also admitted that he was “delighted” to see Danny take home the jackpot.
And Danny had more than football in mind for his winnings. He revealed that he planned to treat his girlfriend to a holiday in Orlando.
What began with an awkward wrong answer about election day therefore ended with Danny celebrating one of the biggest wins of his Tipping Point appearance.
