The Chase Contestant Leaves Bradley Walsh Stunned With Unexpected Admission

Bradley Walsh was left in hysterics on The Chase after a contestant casually revealed that she had only applied for the ITV quiz show because her friends told her to.

Olivia, from Newcastle, was taking on Chaser Shaun Wallace when her unexpected confession caught Bradley completely off guard.

During the head-to-head, Olivia answered a question incorrectly before laughing and revealing the surprising reason she had ended up on the programme.

“I’m here because my friends told me to come,” she admitted.

The revelation immediately sent Bradley into fits of laughter.

Clearly unable to believe what he had just heard, the presenter bent over the desk before repeating Olivia’s words back to her.

“You’re here because your friends told you to come!” Bradley eventually managed to say between giggles.

Olivia went on to lose her head-to-head against Shaun, but her brief appearance left a lasting impression on the host.

Once she had left the stage, Bradley turned towards the camera, still smiling and shaking his head in disbelief.

“I’ve only come on because my mates told me to,” he joked.

Viewers React to Olivia’s Appearance

Viewers also took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Olivia’s performance.

One joked: “Her friends are evil.”

Another commented: “Olivia has lovely dimples when she smiles.”

A third wrote: “Olivia has been lucky so far, but I think her trip to South America is seriously in doubt!”

“Olivia couldn’t deliver,” added another viewer.

The moment came after another contestant had left Bradley equally surprised on the previous episode.

Sarah-Jane, a librarian who said she had extensive knowledge of literature, was asked about the website justpooh.com and which author had created its characters.

She replied: “Pass.”

Bradley was visibly astonished before giving the answer himself: “A. A. Milne!”

But it was Olivia’s completely unexpected explanation for appearing on The Chase that provided Bradley with another memorable moment, leaving the presenter laughing long after her head-to-head had ended.

The Chase airs weeknights at 5pm on ITV.
