Bradley Walsh was left stunned during Tuesday’s edition of The Chase after a primary school teacher gave a surprisingly wrong answer to a question about one of Britain’s most famous naturalists.
Hollie was one of four contestants — alongside Dave, Ken and Lynne — hoping to build enough money to take on Chaser Anne Hegerty.
But despite Bradley initially suggesting that Hollie’s job as a primary school teacher should give her a broad range of knowledge, she suffered an agonising slip-up during her Cash Builder.

Bradley Praises Hollie’s Knowledge
When Hollie revealed that she worked as a primary school teacher, Bradley immediately suggested that her profession could give her an advantage on the quiz show.
“You’ve got a broad church of knowledge, haven’t you?” the presenter said.
“You must have, because you’ve got to do everything, Maths, English, Art, History.”
“Yes, I like to think so,” Hollie replied.
“Good!” Bradley responded.
However, that confidence was soon put to the test when Hollie reached the final question of her Cash Builder.

‘Nooo!’ Bradley Cries
Bradley asked: “Shrewsbury hosts a February festival named after which naturalist?”
With the clock running down, Hollie answered: “Attenborough.”
She immediately realised something had gone wrong.
“Nooo!” Bradley exclaimed as Hollie put her head in her hands.
“Darwin,” she corrected herself.
But the answer had already been locked in.
Bradley reacted by banging his head against his monitor in frustration before confirming the correct answer was Charles Darwin.
“I knew it as soon as the clock had gone down,” Hollie admitted.
Bradley could only sigh at the painful mistake.

Hollie’s Teammate Makes Things Worse
As the team discussed the question, Hollie’s teammate Dave pointed out an interesting fact about Darwin.
“Born in Shrewsbury,” Dave remarked.
“Born in Shrewsbury? Was he, Dave?” Bradley asked, clearly surprised.
When Dave confirmed that Darwin had indeed been born in Shrewsbury, Hollie burst out laughing.
Bradley then joked: “It’s no good bringing that knowledge to the game now.”
The presenter continued to express his disbelief at Hollie’s answer, jokingly asking: “What’s wrong with you?”
Despite the costly mistake, Hollie managed to finish her Cash Builder with £3,000.

Anne Hegerty Sends Hollie Home
Hollie’s £3,000 gave her something to fight for when she faced Anne in the next round.
Unfortunately, the primary school teacher could not survive her head-to-head battle with The Governess and was eventually eliminated from the competition.
Her Darwin mistake therefore proved particularly frustrating, especially given that she appeared to know the answer almost immediately after the clock ran out.
For Bradley, however, the moment provided another memorable Chase reaction — complete with a head-to-monitor collision and plenty of disbelief.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
