Amid an increasingly packed royal diary, Catherine, Princess of Wales quietly conducted a private engagement at Windsor Castle on Monday afternoon, hinting at major developments underway behind the scenes. The meeting was formally recorded in the Court Circular, the official daily register of royal duties:
“The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron of the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon received Mrs Sarah Henwood (Chief Executive) at Windsor Castle.”
Sarah Henwood stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer of The Royal Foundation in February, succeeding Amanda Berry. A seasoned media executive and former Paramount lead with more than three decades of public service broadcasting experience, Henwood noted upon her appointment that she looked forward to channeling “awe, excitement, and fresh energy” into the couple’s high-impact philanthropic endeavors.
The strategy session between Kate and Henwood signals renewed momentum across the Waleses’ cornerstone philanthropic platforms, which encompass the Princess’s pioneering work through the Centre for Early Childhood and Prince William’s global Earthshot Prize environmental initiatives.
Simultaneously on Monday, Prince William completed his own discreet duty at Windsor Castle without media cameras, chairing a meeting of The Prince’s Council, the governing board of the Duchy of Cornwall.
The low-key Windsor summit follows a vibrant run of recent engagements for the Princess. Over the past week, Kate hosted an unannounced tea reception at Windsor Castle for Three Peaks challenge climbers, visited Southend-on-Sea with The Forward Trust to observe Addiction Awareness Week, and attended the London premiere of Digger at Leicester Square alongside Prince William and actor Tom Cruise.
