Duke of Sussex reportedly wants more regular trips home, with the 2027 Invictus Games and charity work expected to bring him back frequently

Prince Harry could be spending considerably more time in the U.K. after his recent reunion with King Charles, according to a new report.

The Duke of Sussex is reportedly planning to return to his home country “every few months”, with upcoming charity commitments and the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham expected to give him more reasons to make the journey.

A source close to Harry told The Times that “the way the wind is blowing, he’s going to want to be here more and more.”

The source also claimed Harry is pleased that future visits could focus more heavily on his charitable work and patronages, rather than being dominated by legal disputes and other controversies surrounding his relationship with the British press.

“He’s happy these trips can now have more focus on the patronages,” the source said, adding that Harry wants “more of a foothold here, more trips back, less courtroom drama.”

The reported change comes shortly after Harry, 41, made a significant return to Britain in July.

During the visit, he attended events marking one year until the 2027 Invictus Games, which will take place in Birmingham. His wife, Meghan Markle, also travelled to the U.K. with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

But the most closely watched moment came when Harry reunited with his father.

Harry, Meghan and their children met King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire. The meeting was particularly significant because it was only the third meeting between Harry and Charles since the King’s 2024 cancer diagnosis, while Charles had not seen his grandchildren in more than four years.

The Palace chose not to release photographs from the private reunion or disclose details of the conversation.

A source close to the family previously said the meetings were better kept private so that the family could rebuild their relationships away from public scrutiny.

Harry was reportedly “buoyed, very happy and really energized” after seeing his father.

Now, according to The Times, the July visit could become a template for more frequent trips.

A source close to Harry reportedly said the arrangements had been working well and that “the frequency of trips will increase”, particularly as the Invictus Games approaches.

The Duke is said to be determined to make the 2027 Games his best yet, meaning he could be travelling between the U.S. and Britain regularly in the months ahead.

Harry’s existing U.K. commitments could also play a role.

His charitable connections include the Halo Trust and Scotty’s Little Soldiers, giving him additional reasons to return to Britain outside of royal family matters.

It remains unclear whether Meghan and their children will accompany him on future trips.

Security and privacy have remained major concerns for Harry during his visits to Britain, and the question of how he and his family can safely travel to the country has been a longstanding source of tension.

His latest U.K. trip also came amid an ongoing legal battle with the British press.

During the visit, Harry suffered a legal setback when a judge dismissed a case involving Associated Newspapers Limited, publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday. Harry and fellow claimants had argued that the publications had obtained information through unlawful means, but the judge ruled that their evidence did not establish that the articles involved unlawful information gathering.

Harry later criticised the ruling, saying the claimants had sought “justice and accountability” but had received neither.

Despite the legal disappointment, his recent trip appeared to carry a more personal significance.

Harry and his family also visited Althorp, the childhood home of his late mother, Princess Diana.

Meghan shared photographs from the visit showing Harry, Archie and Lilibet walking through the estate, with Harry and his son carrying flowers. The images prompted speculation that the family had visited Diana’s burial site.

With the Invictus Games approaching and more charitable commitments on the calendar, Harry’s relationship with Britain could therefore be entering a new phase.

After years of living primarily in the U.S., the Duke may now be preparing to make the journey home far more regularly — potentially every few months.
