Bradley Walsh halted the usual gameplay on The Chase in what viewers described as the “oddest 20 seconds” on the ITV quiz show. Clive, Aimee, Deborah and Zandro made up the team of four contestants who were eager to test their general knowledge skills against one of the UK’s best quizzers.
Zandro was first up to take on The Chaser, who in this case was Anne Hegerty aka The Governess. He gave a great performance in his Cash Builder round and accumulated an impressive £6,000 for the team.
ITV presenter Bradley Walsh was quick to comment on Zandro’s unusual name as he said: “Welcome to the show Zandro, that’s a very exotic name I’ve got to say.” He added: “I like it.”
The contestant explained: “It’s Sicilian heritage, my dad was born in Sicily.” Zandro also explained he is a drummer in a band. But his hobby seemed to be the subject of Anne Hegerty’s ruthless joke.

The Governess asked Zandro: “Are you here to quiz or do the ‘buh dum tish’ after Bradley’s jokes?” The player gave a witty response and a subtle dig at the ITV host as he responded: “What jokes? ‘buh dum tish’.”

The other contestants couldn’t help but laugh while Brad glared at Zandro after his hilarious comment. Anne said: “He’s not on your side anymore” and Zandro said: “We were having such a good time.”
Bradley stopped the gameplay as he continued to stare at the contestant before slowly moving towards him. He stopped in front of Zandro until they were face-to-face. He continued to have a stare-off with Zandro while he pulled funny facial expressions.
Taking to social media, one viewer said: “There’s only one who can get away with that Brad.” Another said: “Well, that was one of oddest 30 seconds of #TheChase I’ve ever seen.” A third asked: “Wtf was that??” while a fourth added: “Looked like they were about to make out.”
After an unusual couple of minutes on the ITV quiz show, Brad soon returned to his presenting duties and Zandro secured a spot in the final chase.
Next up was Deborah who managed to secure another £6,000 for the team. Aimee hoped to follow in their successful footsteps as she tested her wits against The Governess.
But her time on the ITV quiz show came to an unfortunate end when she was caught by The Chaser. Aimee left empty-handed ahead of Clive’s turn to test his luck.
Clive bagged a spot in the final alongside Deborah and Zandro. The three quizzers achieved a score of 12, but it wasn’t strong enough to triumph against The Chaser. The Governess caught their score with 52 seconds remaining and they left the show empty-handed.
