Tipping Point* viewers who have long suspected the ITV quiz show is “fixed” believe they may have finally spotted evidence to support their theory.
The popular programme sees four contestants battle through general knowledge questions to win counters, which are then dropped into a giant arcade-style coin-pusher machine in the hope of triggering cash prizes.
Presented by Good Morning Britain anchor Ben Shephard, the show has been on ITV since 2012. But throughout its run, some viewers have repeatedly questioned whether the machine is genuinely unpredictable or somehow manipulated behind the scenes.
Fans point to alleged “magnet” in the machine
Following a recent episode, one viewer took to social media with a video they claimed showed evidence of a magnet influencing one of the counters as it moved through the machine.
The footage quickly reignited one of the show’s longest-running fan theories — that a hidden magnet could be controlling where the counters fall.
However, the claim remains a fan theory, and ITV has previously denied that the programme is fixed.
Ben Shephard has also addressed the speculation himself, often joking about the idea that someone could secretly control the machine.
During an episode of Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter even suggested the possibility of a magnet.
