The Chase’s Bradley Walsh Left in Hysterics After Anne Hegerty Falls for ‘Lying Mare’

Bradley Walsh could barely contain himself on The Chase after one seemingly ridiculous answer left him in tears of laughter — and things only got funnier when Anne Hegerty chose the wrong option.

Bradley Walsh cried with laughter over a rude answer on The Chase

During Tuesday’s episode of the ITV quiz show, contestant Michael faced “The Governess” in the main game, where one question about Vincent van Gogh produced an unexpectedly hilarious moment.

Bradley, 60, read out the question: “Which of these is a painting by Vincent Van Gogh?”

The three choices were:

  • A) Lying Mare
  • B) Lying Hound
  • C) Lying Cow

The moment Bradley reached the third option, he burst out laughing.

“Only on this show could you do that. Absolutely brilliant!” he said.

Michael selected B, “Lying Hound”, prompting another laugh from the host.

“It’s not gonna be Lying Cow,” Bradley joked.

But Bradley’s confidence did not last long.

When the correct answer was revealed, it was, in fact, C) Lying Cow.

The unexpected result sent Bradley into even more hysterics as the audience joined in.

Wiping tears from his face, the presenter exclaimed: “I love this show!”

As Anne attempted to maintain her famously stern expression, Bradley continued laughing.

“This is great, Lying Cow, absolutely brilliant,” he said.

The attention then shifted to Hegerty, as Bradley waited to discover which answer she had chosen.

Bradley appeared convinced that Anne would struggle with the obscure painting.

“Chaser’s put… she won’t get this. Not in a million years. So obscure this painting,” he said.

His prediction proved correct.

Anne had selected A) Lying Mare, meaning she had missed the correct answer.

Unfortunately for Michael, however, Anne’s mistake was not enough to save him.

She answered the rest of her questions correctly and eventually caught him, preventing him from joining his teammates in the Final Chase.

The episode provided one of those spontaneous moments that The Chase is known for, with Bradley’s infectious laughter turning an otherwise straightforward quiz question into the highlight of the game.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
