One contestant couldn’t hold back her tears after an extraordinary performance on The Chase saw all four players survive to the Final Chase — before handing Paul Sinha one of the toughest defeats of the episode.
Natasha, a new mum from Harpenden, joined Oxford undergraduate Sydney, chocolate maker David and accountant Martyn in building a £29,000 prize pot.
By the end, even Bradley Walsh was calling them an “exceptional team.”
Four Contestants Make It to the Final Chase
The signs that Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha might be facing an unusually strong group appeared early.
Martyn delivered an impressive eight correct answers during his Cash Builder, a performance Sinha later admitted had immediately made him nervous about what was coming.
“From the moment that Martyn came out and nailed those eight questions in the cash builder, I thought, ‘I’m in for a hard game here’,” Paul admitted afterward.
And he was right.
All four contestants successfully made it back to the team, giving them maximum numbers for the Final Chase and the opportunity to compete together for £29,000.
The Final Chase Turns Into a Nightmare for Paul

Once the clock started, the team made their advantage count.
Paul struggled to find his usual rhythm, at one stage answering three consecutive questions incorrectly. Every mistake created another opportunity for the contestants to push him back.
They took full advantage.
The team managed an extraordinary eight pushbacks during the chase, repeatedly sending Paul farther away from their target.
Time eventually expired before The Sinnerman could even make it halfway down the board.
The £29,000 belonged to the contestants.
Natasha Suddenly Breaks Down
“I’m just really happy,” she replied through giggles.
As the realization sank in, Natasha became visibly emotional.
Bradley noticed immediately and turned toward her.
“Well played, you’re an exceptional team. Natasha, you alright darling? Overwhelmed?” he asked.
Laughing through her tears, Natasha replied simply: “I’m just really happy.”
For the contestant, who had a ten-month-old baby at home and was married to a Michelin-starred chef, the tense quiz had ended with a result she appeared to struggle to believe.
Paul, meanwhile, had no excuses.
He congratulated the team and acknowledged that Martyn’s opening performance had warned him from the beginning that this would not be an ordinary game.
“Well done,” he told them.
