The Chase Family Leaves Bradley Walsh Speechless After Final Chase Ends With 78 Seconds Still on the Clock

Bradley Walsh had seen plenty of disastrous performances on The Chase, but one family’s attempt to beat Shaun Wallace ended so quickly that even the host appeared stunned by what had just happened.

The Lawrence-Harish family entered the ITV quiz hoping to take home thousands of pounds. By the Final Chase, however, only Demi and Kerrie remained — and things were about to go from difficult to painfully awkward.

A Final Chase They Wanted to Forget

With two contestants in the final, Demi and Kerrie received a two-step head start and were playing for £2,500.

But the questions simply wouldn’t fall their way.

Across the round, they managed only five correct answers, struggling with subjects ranging from history and geography to entertainment, sport and popular culture.

Even Bradley couldn’t resist acknowledging what was unfolding.

“Don’t look towards the scoreboard,” he joked. “People may not notice.”

Unfortunately, Shaun “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace certainly noticed.

Shaun Barely Needed the Clock

 

When Shaun began his chase, the size of the target meant he had an enormous amount of time to work with.

He quickly tore through the questions and caught the family with an extraordinary one minute and 18 seconds still remaining.

Bradley appeared genuinely taken aback.

“That’s never happened before,” he remarked, before joking that they now had time to wait for the news.

Demi immediately joined in at her own expense.

“Today’s news: The Lawrence-Harish family are going home with nothing.”

Despite the crushing defeat, the family seemed determined to laugh about it rather than hide from the result.

The Family Laughs at Its Own Disaster

But the remaining family members struggled as a pair

After the episode, Demi joked that at least they had managed to achieve a new record.

Fellow family member Giaa was equally self-deprecating, admitting that she and her relatives had looked “mega stupid” on television but insisting that appearing on the show had still been fun.

That good humor contrasted sharply with some reactions from viewers, who were stunned by how quickly the Final Chase had ended.

Several criticized the family’s performance, while others joked that they could have produced a higher score themselves.

Still, the Lawrence-Harish family hadn’t missed everything.

Among the questions they did answer correctly was one asking which newspaper featured the showbiz gossip column Bizarre.

From Bad to Worse

The final round was not a big success for Demi and Kerrie

The problems had begun before the final round.

Only Demi and Kerrie successfully reached the Final Chase after the other two family members were eliminated, despite some contestants opting for lower offers in an attempt to improve their chances of returning safely.

That left the remaining pair facing one of the show’s formidable Chasers with little room for error.

Five correct answers later, their fate was effectively sealed.

Shaun showed no mercy, raced through the tiny target and brought the game to an unusually early conclusion.

The family walked away without the £2,500 — but their spectacularly short Final Chase gave them something else to remember: a performance so unusual that it briefly left Bradley Walsh wondering what the show was supposed to do with all the time still left on the clock.
