Joe Sugg Makes The Chase History After Taking Huge £201,000 Offer

Joe Sugg delivered one of the most memorable celebrity moments on The Chase after taking an enormous gamble that even Bradley Walsh predicted could “go viral.”
The content creator and former Strictly Come Dancing finalist appeared on the celebrity edition of the ITV quiz show alongside Myles Stephenson, Lucrezia Millarini and former England goalkeeper David James.
The celebrities were playing for their chosen charities and faced Paul Sinha, better known to viewers as The Sinnerman.
But it was Joe who suddenly found himself with the opportunity to make The Chase history.
A £201,000 decision

Joe began strongly, earning £8,000 during his Cash Builder.
Then came the offers.
At the lower end was £1,000. But Sinha’s high offer was an extraordinary £201,000.
Rather than immediately dismissing the risk, Joe began considering what such a victory could mean — particularly for charity. He also joked that successfully taking the huge offer would create quite a viral moment.
Eventually, he decided to risk everything.
Joe accepted the £201,000 offer and stepped up to face The Sinnerman.
Bradley realised history was within reach

Joe performed impressively in the head-to-head, getting enough questions correct to bring himself within touching distance of the enormous prize.
Then everything came down to his final question.
He was asked which of a hedgehog’s senses is very poor, with sight, hearing and smell given as the three possible answers.
Joe selected sight.
Before the answer was revealed, Bradley made clear just how significant the moment could be. He told Joe that getting through with the £201,000 would make history and joked that the pair were about to “go viral.”
Bradley even moved closer to Joe as they waited to discover whether his answer was correct.
Then the screen revealed it.
Joe was right.
Joe’s £201,000 gamble paid off
The studio erupted as Joe jumped in celebration before embracing Bradley.
He had successfully beaten Sinha in the head-to-head and brought the entire £201,000 back to the team — an extraordinary amount for a single contestant.
With the remaining successful players added to the pot, the celebrities eventually entered the Final Chase playing for £213,000.
Joe was joined by David and Myles, while Lucrezia had already been eliminated.
The three celebrities produced a target of 18.
Unfortunately, their remarkable run wasn’t quite enough.
A dramatic ending to a remarkable performance
Sinha successfully chased down their target with just under 30 seconds remaining.
That meant the team lost the enormous £213,000 prize fund they had accumulated, although the celebrities still received £1,000 each for their respective charities.
For Joe, however, the Final Chase defeat couldn’t completely erase what had happened earlier.
He had been confronted with a choice between playing relatively safely or putting his place in the competition on the line for £201,000.
He chose the gamble.
And when everything rested on one question about a hedgehog, he got it right.
Bradley’s prediction proved fitting: whether or not the team ultimately took home the jackpot, Joe’s extraordinary £201,000 head-to-head victory gave the episode its unforgettable moment.
