Harry and Meghan Roasted Over UK Return in Brutal SNL Sketch as Royal Family and Prime Minister Become Targets

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to Britain has been turned into comedy fodder, with Saturday Night Live UK taking aim at the Sussexes in a biting sketch that imagined an awkward reunion with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Balmoral.

The comedy show opened its second season by parodying the Duke and Duchess of Sussex alongside Prime Minister Andy Burnham, with comedians Jack Shep and Ayoade Bamgboye portraying Harry and Meghan.

Larry Dean appeared as Charles, while Emma Sidi took on the role of Camilla.

Harry’s return gets an awkward royal welcome

The sketch imagined Harry and Meghan arriving at Balmoral after returning from the United States.

The fictional Charles appeared stunned to see his younger son and immediately took aim at the couple’s finances.

“Don’t tell me you’ve spent all your Netflix money already,” he joked.

Harry’s character replied: “It was $60 million. How long was it meant to last?”

The exchange set the tone for a sketch that repeatedly poked fun at the Sussexes’ post-royal life and their decision to return to Britain.

Camilla’s character then welcomed “sweet Harry” and “beautiful Meghan,” before delivering another deliberately provocative line referencing Meghan’s skin color.

The joke appeared to allude to Harry and Meghan’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which they discussed conversations within the Royal Family about the skin color of their then-unborn son Archie.

Meghan’s Netflix show becomes another punchline

The sketch then turned its attention to Meghan’s lifestyle ventures.

Her character presented Camilla with an unusual homemade gift.

“Hey, Step Queen. I brought you a gift … It’s ice. I made it myself. I can give you the recipe,” she said.

The gag appeared to parody Meghan’s Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan.

Harry’s character then asked his father for money while attempting to explain his complicated relationship with royal life.

“Just because I don’t want to be a royal, doesn’t mean I want to be a regular guy,” he declared.

That line provided the entrance for another target of the sketch — Prime Minister Andy Burnham.

Played by comedian George Fouracres, Burnham walked through the door after hearing the phrase “regular guy.”

“Did somebody say ‘regular guy’?” he asked.

The fictional prime minister then introduced himself to Harry and Meghan before making his own promise about their new lives outside traditional royal duties.

“I’m the new PM and I’m nothing like the last one,” he said.

The sketch also mocked the circumstances surrounding Burnham’s move from Manchester politics into Westminster, joking about his decision to become MP for Makerfield in order to become eligible to enter Number 10.

When Charles repeated the constituency name, Burnham responded with a pun: “Maybe I will make a field — I’m gonna make all sorts of things.”

SNL UK continues targeting royals and politicians

The episode was hosted by Hollywood actor Jeff Goldblum, who opened the show with a musical performance.

SNL UK, inspired by the long-running American Saturday Night Live, launched on Sky One earlier in 2026 and has repeatedly used members of the Royal Family and senior politicians as material for its sketches.

Jack Shep previously portrayed the former Prince Andrew in a March sketch that satirized controversies surrounding the former Duke of York and imagined an elaborate decades-long plan involving his public reputation.

This time, however, it was Harry and Meghan’s return to Britain that provided the centerpiece.

Their fictional visit to Balmoral allowed the show to pack several of the biggest talking points surrounding the Sussexes — their Netflix deal, Meghan’s lifestyle series, their departure from royal duties and their relationship with the Royal Family — into a single uncomfortable reunion.

And in SNL UK’s version of events, Harry’s insistence that abandoning royal duties did not mean he wanted an ordinary life became perhaps the sharpest punchline of them all.
