Fresh out of high school, Alex stunned everyone on Beat The Chasers when she was offered a massive £100,000 to take on all five Chasers. But the decision she made next surprised viewers even more.

BEAT The Chaser player Alex ran off stage screaming last night after she was offered a huge £100,000 prize – and thrashed the Chasers.

Alex, from Suffolk, said she’d only ever played Trivial Pursuit at home with her mates before she faced off against Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha and Jenny Ryan tonight.

Though she revealed she had just recently left high school, the trainee paramedic was confident she could give the quiz masters a run for their money.

And given her display of bravado the Chasers chucked huge offers at the budding NHS worker.

The Beast’s Mark Labbett slapped an incredible £100,000 on the board if she’d agree to take them ALL on.

But viewers were stunned at their show’s seemingly endless budget as one wrote on Twitter: “The budget to this must be sky high compared to the chase.”

In the end, sensible Alex played it safe and opted for the £25k offer to go up against Paul, Jenny and Anne.

The Chasers’ fate was sealed when they answered three questions wrong, with Paul throwing Jenny a sharp look when she stumbled on a question about Ed Sheeran.

As the tension got to the Chasers they ran out of time, leaving Alex storming to victory and hugging Bradley Walsh.

He said: “Alex is screaming at me we’re going to the Maldives, we’re gong to the Maldives!”

Jenny later told Alex: “I cannot fault Alex there she played such a great game, and came up with some great answers, and she stayed so calm there, I think she’s going to make a great paramedic.”

Alex was delighted with her win and did a little dance as she ran off stage

Another Beat The Chasers contestant left the master quizzers stunned as he took a huge £90,000 gamble.

Player Bernie grasped his big shot at the megabucks with both hands.

When he choos to take on all five Chasers for the jackpot, Anne Hegerty threw her head back and coolly said: “He’s toast”.

Unlike The Chase, Beat the Chasers sees contestants try and do the impossible and defeat all five Chasers in one go.

The series is hosted by Bradley Walsh, who will call contestants out of the studio audience to compete.

In the Cash Builder round, the contestants face five multiple-choice questions and have the chance to bank up to £5,000.

But if they get the first question wrong – they’re out.

The contestants are then given the option of playing against two, three, four or all five Chasers.

The higher the number of Chasers they go against, the more money is up for grabs.

If a contestant gets a question wrong the clock counts down until a question is answered correctly.

Beat The Chasers starts tonight and airs every night this week at 9pm on ITV.
