Bradley Walsh could barely get his words out after an innocent conversation about skincare took a hilarious turn on The Chase.

The ITV host ended up in fits of laughter during an episode featuring contestants Nathan, Glenda, Jo and Greg, with Jenny Ryan taking her place as the Chaser.

The moment began during 24-year-old Jo’s head-to-head round when she was presented with a question involving the “T-Zone” — the area covering the forehead, nose and chin that can be particularly oily.

Bradley admits he has no idea what the T-Zone is

Bradley appeared completely baffled by the term, prompting Jenny to explain the basics of skincare to him.

“You’re showing your age there,” she told the presenter, before explaining that teenagers are often taught about the T-Zone and how it can require different moisturiser or face wash because it tends to become oilier than other areas of the face.

But Bradley’s response quickly sent the conversation in an unexpected direction.

“Moisturiser?” he replied. “I use what I always used… lard.”

He then added that he washed his hair in “creosol”.

Jenny immediately responded: “That explains it.”

One word sends Bradley into hysterics

It was Bradley’s own description of his supposed beauty routine that ultimately proved too much for him.

According to the original report, the presenter realised he had made a blunder by referring to a product associated with treating fences rather than anything intended for someone’s face or hair.

Once the mistake registered, Bradley completely lost his composure.

The 62-year-old presenter erupted into laughter and struggled to continue speaking, eventually ending up with tears in his eyes.

What had begun as a straightforward quiz question had suddenly become one of those unpredictable exchanges for which The Chase has become known.

Jenny remained characteristically quick-witted throughout the exchange.

Rather than allowing Bradley’s unusual claims about lard and his hair-care routine to pass without comment, her simple response — “That explains it” — added to the joke.

The hilarious interruption eventually had to give way to the actual competition, with Jo continuing her attempt to make it back to the team and help build their potential prize fund.
