Most importantly, his decision meant the remaining jackpot was carried over into Tuesday’s game.

Chris Returns — But His Second Attempt Ends Early

Under the Rollover rules, Chris was allowed to return the following evening and try again.

This time he reached the 10% question before being confronted with a puzzle involving missing letters in an anagram of “spring summer.”

He couldn’t solve it and was eliminated.

Nevertheless, Chris left the two-day run with £11,000.

His exit cleared the way for two new contestants to take centre stage.

Michelle and Nathaniel survived the increasingly difficult questions and both reached the final 1% challenge.

Thanks to the money carried over from the previous night, the jackpot had now climbed to a massive £194,000.

Neither contestant chose to play it safe.

Both decided to gamble and attempt the final question.

But only one of them found the correct solution.

Michelle cracked the 1% question and claimed the entire £194,000 jackpot, while Nathaniel fell at the final hurdle.

Michelle’s enormous victory would ordinarily have marked the end of her appearance, but the Rollover format came with another unusual rule.

Both Michelle and Nathaniel were eligible to return for the following episode, joining 98 new contestants for another attempt.

The prize fund was expected to begin again at around £100,000 — meaning Michelle potentially had another opportunity to add to the extraordinary amount she had already won.

With successful players able to return across five consecutive nights, the special format theoretically offered contestants the opportunity to accumulate as much as £500,000.
