Shawn Mendes has hard-launched his relationship with girlfriend Bruna Marquezine.
On Tuesday, Aug. 4, the Grammy nominee musician celebrated his girlfriend’s 31st birthday with an emotional Instagram tribute. “Feliz aniversário my baby,” his caption began.
“You are a light and a mãe in every room you walk into. Not to be tooooo sappy but you’ve truly changed my life, and I am so so grateful for you,” the 27-year-old singer continued.
He then penned a sweet message in Portuguese: “Eu te amo muito muito muitoo,” which translates to “I love you so, so, so much”. “We all do amor…”

Mendes’ post included videos of him and Marquezine at Casa Amarela Providencia in Rio de Janeiro. The first video included the actress and model being greeted by a room of excited children as they ran to hug her. Another video included Marquezine singing and dancing as the crowd of children seemingly sang “Happy Birthday” to her.
Mendes added a video of himself smiling and posing with two children at Casa Amarela Providencia. The Instagram post concluded with a snap of Marquezine posing for the camera, as she held her dog right in front of her smile.
The “Stitches” singer also included a photo of the couple posing together at Casa Amarela Providencia in his Instagram Stories.
The pair was first rumored to be in a relationship last December, per Page Six. In the eight months since, they’ve been photographed in the U.S. and Marquezine’s home country of Brazil.

Mendes previously dated Camila Cabello on and off from 2019 through 2023. They first split in 2021 before briefly rekindling their romance in 2023. He was also publicly linked to Sabrina Carpenter in February 2023, which was around the same time he was spotted rekindling his romance with Cabello.
Then in October 2024, he spoke about his dating life at a concert in Colorado. At the time, he insisted he wants to take the “pressure” off finding “The One.”

“When you’re single, there’s this pressure of looking for ‘The One,’ who’s ‘The One?’… Damn, that’s a lot of pressure to put on someone when you first start dating,” he told fans, according to a TikTok video.
“For me, I’ve just been trying to take that pressure off of whoever, and just allow myself to experience the love that is happening in that moment, wherever and however that’s happening. Man, we all need a little bit of cuddling, a little bit of hugging,” he added.
