Gianluca Ginoble opens up about the hidden side of Il Volo: “Fame robbed us of our childhood, but it gave us a family”

In a deeply personal interview with Vanity Fair Italia, Gianluca Ginoble shared emotional reflections on the journey of trading away their childhood for an enduring musical career.
The price of fame at 14 In 2009, when they were just 14–15-year-old boys stepping out of an Italian TV talent show, Gianluca Ginoble, along with Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto, were instantly thrust into the whirlwind of the global entertainment industry. Skyrocketing to stardom through classic Pop Opera harmonies like ‘O Sole Mio and Grande Amore completely altered the trajectory of these young teenagers’ lives.
While their peers were living ordinary youthful years—going to school, attending parties, experiencing first loves, or freely exploring themselves—Gianluca and his bandmates had to adapt to a grueling international tour schedule, endless long-haul flights, and strict media scrutiny.
