The “legend” about the Bermuda triangle has been circulating for decades, when more than 50 ships and 20 planes mysteriously disappeared in this area.
The area known as the Bermuda triangle is located in the northwest Atlantic Ocean. The three points of this devil’s triangle point towards Miami, Bermuda and Puerto Rico.
More than 50 ships and 20 aircraft have disappeared in this area. The most prominent is the mysterious disappearance of “Flight 19”, according to Newsweek.

“Flight 19” was the name of a mission by a group of five U.S. Navy torpedo bombers. All five planes mysteriously disappeared while flying over the Bermuda Triangle in 1945. The remains of the bombers were never found, and the reason for their disappearance remained a mystery for many years.
Recently, Canadian historian David O’Keefe joined a team that traveled to the area to search for a downed World War II aircraft for a new television documentary about the Bermuda Triangle: “Into the Cursed Waters.”
Strange occurrences continue.
Mr. O’Keefe stated: “As far as the data is concerned, shipwrecks and aircraft losses continue. However, we now have a better understanding of the area.”
The sensationalism seems to have subsided, at least for the time being.
One theory suggests that the area experiences violent storms encroaching from multiple directions. This can generate powerful waves, which some believe can reach over 30 meters.
Currently, debris from “Flight 19” has been found in the area. While a new documentary was being filmed, O’Keefe, along with a team led by marine biologist Mike Barnette, discovered a large piece of debris from the 1986 Challenger space shuttle at a location near the triangle.

The American space shuttle Challenger exploded 73 seconds after takeoff. All seven people on board died when the spacecraft broke apart at an altitude of 14,000 meters over the Atlantic Ocean.
O’Keefe said, “This discovery is a shock. We never imagined that following the story of ‘Flight 19’ would lead us to a discovery so important to American history and the space program.”
This discovery demonstrates that there are still many mysteries to be investigated off the coast of Florida stretching across the Atlantic Ocean.
Is the Bermuda Triangle dangerous?
Despite the superstitions and stories surrounding the Bermuda Triangle, there is no concrete evidence to suggest that the area is actually dangerous.
The U.S. Air Safety Network and Coast Guard have for years indicated that some disappearances can be explained by storm conditions in the area.
Other disappearances remain speculative, but ships may not be safe. This means the Bermuda Triangle has nothing to do with what has happened.

“Just like human nature, whenever we can’t find an answer to a certain question, we open Pandora’s box of theories to satisfy our intellectual hunger and curiosity,” O’Keefe said.
O’Keefe said the documentary’s purpose was to identify and name some of the hundreds of shipwreck sites in the Bermuda Triangle and to “reassure some families who have lost loved ones without understanding why.”
