The protracted legal battle between the famous rapper Soulja Boy and his ex-girlfriend is taking a dramatic turn, with the opposing party deciding to launch a “killer move” to seize control of the artist’s debts.
According to the latest court documents, the former assistant and ex-girlfriend of the “Crank That” singer (filing under the anonymous name Jane Doe) has officially announced that she will auction off all of Soulja Boy’s music royalty rights (residuals) from his Broadcast Music organization. Ownership of this massive passive income asset will go to the highest bidder, unless the rapper obtains a legally permissible court order.
This drastic move stems from a previous jury ruling that ordered Soulja Boy to pay Jane Doe nearly $4 million in damages. In a previous trial, the rapper was convicted of sexual assault, intentional infliction of serious emotional distress, and a series of other shocking charges.
In her initial lawsuit, the woman revealed a horrifying truth behind their two-year relationship. She stated that the relationship quickly turned into a living hell when the rapper displayed violent tendencies, even once locking her in a room for days without food.
Soulja Boy’s legal representatives vehemently denied all allegations, asserting that the jury’s verdict was not based on convincing evidence. While the rapper himself admitted to having been involved, he repeatedly argued that he only hired her to “roll cigarettes” for him.
However, the hip-hop star’s excuses completely failed in court. Now, with the compensation deadline approaching and the money still nowhere to be seen, his ex-partner has decided not to wait any longer and is directly targeting his musical “gold mine” to seek justice.
