Is it time for America’s Got Talent to get a new judging panel? Some fans on Reddit think so, as a recent thread is focused on the question of whether the current judges (Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Mel B, and Sofia Vergara) have worn out their welcome.

Does AGT Need a New Judging Panel?

A recent post on the AGT subreddit features the title, “It’s time for AGT to change the judging panel.” The poster complains that Simon Cowell has become too nice, while Howie Mandel is now “the meanest one.” They added that Mel B “is hated all around.”

“The only judge that I have no issues with at the moment is Sofia but the others have all run their course. It feels stale,” they wrote. A commenter agreed, arguing, “It should go back to how it used to be where Simon is only involved behind the scenes.”

Another user suggested that the show should bring past AGT champions back to judge the show, mentioning Shin Lim as someone they would like to see. However, not everyone was convinced that a new set of judges is the way to go.

Not All Fans Agree That New Judges Are Needed

One response to the aforementioned Reddit thread argued, “If these judges were replaced,  all you would do is complain about the new ones.” Meanwhile, another commenter expressed doubt that Simon Cowell would step aside, since he created the show.

Another user expressed trepidation about replacing the panel in this day and age, worrying that the show would hire influencers as judges. Someone else pointed out that this is already happening on BGT, as YouTube star KSI recently joined the panel.
