The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are constantly making headlines.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals in 2020 and moved to Montecito, California. They said they planned to build their own careers to find their way to “financial independence,” having spent the previous festive season in Canada. By July 2020, Meghan and Harry first signed a deal with Spotify – reported to be worth $20million (£15million).
Two years later, Meghan released a 12-part series on the streaming platform called Archetypes, but by June 2023, the couple’s production company “parted ways” with Spotify. The streaming platform’s executive Bill Simmons later branded the pair as “grifters” in a brutal putdown.
In March 2021, around one year after they left the UK, Meghan and Harry’s bombshell interview with veteran broadcaster Oprah Winfrey aired on TV. By 2023, Harry had released his tell-all memoir titled Spare. The book provided insights to life behind closed doors in the Royal Family.
Now, six years after their shock departure from the Royal Family, the couple have continued to garner headlines but at times for all the wrong reasons. Amid reports of A-list pals falling by the wayside, including the Beckhams to George and Amal Clooney, its clear some of these famous faces are not Team Sussex.
7. Piers Morgan
According to the Uncensored presenter, he had a short-lived friendship with Meghan Markle after enjoying “a couple of dirty martinis” with her at a London pub. Piers Morgan later claimed she ghosted him after meeting Prince Harry.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter has continued to hit out at the Sussexes’ whether on social media or on television. Things turned increasingly sour, following Meghan and Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. He famously lost his job after stating on air that he did not believe Meghan’s account of experiencing suicidal thoughts. She also said an unnamed family member had “concerns and conversations about how dark [her unborn child’s] skin might be when he’s born.”
It would result in an on-air clash with his colleague Alex Beresford on GMB. Piers stormed off camera and never returned to the show, later claiming, “If I have to fall on my sword…so be it.”
In his 2025 book, Woke is Dead, Piers wrote, “There is no doubt the royal family has taken a battering.” Piers also claimed Meghan and Harry’s move was to “just to boost their own brand”.

6. Noel Gallagher
The Oasis star once revealed he related to Prince William and Prince Harry’s estrangement. Noel Gallagher’s famous fallout with his younger brother Liam Gallagher mirrored that of the royal brothers. However, before the Oasis brothers had reunited last year, putting their differences aside, Noel addressed Harry and William’s public feud.
During an interview on The Matt Morgan Podcast, he said, “Prince William. I feel that f**king lad’s pain. He’s got a f**king younger brother shooting his f**king mouth off with s**t that is just so unnecessary. I’d like to think I was always the William.”

5. Bethenny Frankel
The Real Housewives of New York City alum has frequently voiced her opinions about Meghan Markle, from her media deals, business ventures, to recounting her past personal connections to Meghan’s ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, who is a friend of the former reality star and businesswoman.
In a TikTok video shared in 2022, Bethenny Frankel suggested Meghan is “painting herself into a corner”. It comes after the reality star claimed she was previously asked to take down comments she made about the Duchess of Sussex by unnamed A-list stars.
The Real Housewives star took issue with Meghan “overplaying her hand” following her exit from royal life.
“She is a terrible, terrible businessperson, strategist — she’s playing checkers, not chess — because she is overplaying her hand, and she is painting herself into a corner, becoming a woman without a country,” Bethenny explained.
“I remember talking about this before the Oprah interview and getting death threats and losing major deals and having many A-list people text me saying that they agree with me secretly,” Bethenny claimed, “but then friends of hers text me, ‘Please take down what you said.’”
In July 2023 she lashed out at Harry and Meghan and their transition from working royals to Hollywood stars. “How do you do every single thing wrong?” she railed, calling their highly publicised outbursts against the monarchy “a botched job”.

4. The Kardashians
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday but it led to a media storm when photos of the Sussexes at the bash were posted on Instagram by the Kardashians. Jenner’s James Bond-themed birthday celebration was held at Jeff Bezos’s mansion in Beverly Hills. Famous guests included Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, Adele, Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton, Justin and Hailey Bieber.
But soon after Harry and Meghan’s photo made it onto Kim Kardashian and her mum’s Instagram grid, it was swiftly removed. At the time, it was reported it may have been because the Duke and Duchess had allegedly not agreed to be photographed and checked “no” on a consent form, but the SKIMS founder later confirmed what happened.
Speaking on her sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, Kim first maintained: “It was really innocent, which is so crazy,” noting: “Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now, and they have a really sweet relationship.”
She then shared how they had been “told that it was totally cool to post,” but Meghan and Harry appeared to have changed their tune because of Remembrance Day. “After it was posted, I think they realised it was Remembrance Day, and they didn’t want to be seen at a party, even though it’s already up, you know, and then taken down. And then I think they realised, like, ‘Oh, this was so silly.'”
The Kardashian sisters also threw some subtle shade, saying the pair were happy to appear in photos at a charity gala for non-profit organisation Baby2Baby that same day, but felt that “was fine” as opposed to being shown “partying and dancing”.
