Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been warned that their Montecito mansion faces serious flood and mudslide danger this autumn, putting their California Megxit dream at risk. Locals in the La Vuelta neighbourhood near San Ysidro Creek recently met Santa Barbara County officials to demand urgent flood-control measures amid fears of a “super El Niño”. The couple’s £11million Chateau of Riven Rock sits close to the same waterways that triggered the deadly 2018 debris flows which killed 23 people.
Previous owner Terry Cunningham admitted he “sure as hell didn’t think about” mudslides when he built the nine-bedroom estate. Experts say sediment build-up and heavy winter rains could again threaten the gated community once the dry season ends. Despite the property now being valued at about $29 million, the looming weather threat has cast a fresh shadow over the Sussexes’ carefully constructed life on the US West Coast.

While she is the daughter of Princess Anne, and the niece of King Charles, Zara herself is not a working royal and does not carry out any official royal duties. However, this does not mean she isn’t covered in royal stardom. And this week just proves she really is a royal superstar. On Tuesday, Zara stepped out in Germany to attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 FEI World Championships in Aachen. She was the only British royal present and joined some seriously high-profile royals from around the world. This included Queen Mary of Denmark. Zara looked effortlessly chic as usual and seemed unfazed as all eyes were on her riding in a carriage during the opening ceremony.

Today marks the day that many students across the UK are collecting their A level results. Even though they are members of the Royal Family, the royals still had to experience the nerves and excitement of results day.
Although some – such as Princess Eugenie and Princess Catherine achieved A-levels; some of the older members of the Firm achieved O-levels, which were the earlier equivalent of today’s A-levels. As with today, the royals embarked on their own paths; some chose to go to university, while others favoured a career in a slightly different field, such as the Army or completing an internship.
