“FOR YEARS, NOBODY CONNECTED THE DOTS — THEN ONE DISCOVERY CHANGED THE ENTIRE CASE” At first, the allegations appeared to be separate incidents with no obvious connection. But as investigators dug deeper, a troubling pattern slowly began to emerge.

Two teachers at a Georgia Christian school were arrested days apart after allegations that they sexually abused the same male student.

Two Christian School Teachers Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Same Male Student, 1 Sentenced

Sherri Delle Mauldin and Bonnie Elizabeth Brown were taken into custody in March 2025. Following their arrests, the school, Nathanael Greene Academy (NGA) in Siloam, was forced to shut down.

Mauldin, 61, pleaded guilty to assaulting a then-15-year-old student. While the former teacher was remorseful of her actions, she claimed to have been in “a dark place,” according to the Union-Recorder.

Prosecutors recommended Mauldin receive 18 years in prison for her crimes. However, Judge Terry N. Massey sentenced her to 12 years in prison and 25 years of probation.

“I would be lying to you if I didn’t tell you that I was slightly disappointed by the court’s sentence,” District Attorney T. Wright Barksdale III told the outlet. “Age gap is something that was an aggravated circumstance and the fact that it was a teacher and a student — that was an aggravating circumstance. The fact that this was a criminal act that took place over the course of a month, so that was an aggravating circumstance.”
