The Duke of Sussex’s surprise guest appearance on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ follows up his January 2023 interview on the show
Prince Harry is teasing a surprise appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
The Duke of Sussex, 41, will appear on The Late Show on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Ahead of the episode, Harry and Colbert, 61, made a cheeky social media video set to a viral Great British Bake Off sound bite.
Harry was in the guest chair as he took on the Great British Bake Off co-host Alison Hammondâs voice, and asked Colbert, âIf you were treated like a king for a day, what would you want me to do for you?â
Colbert responded as Northern Irish baker Mark Lutton, âBake for me probably?â
Harry channeled Hammondâs confusion and lip-synced: âYou want me to do what?â
âBake,â Colbert replied, prompting Harry to say, âBeg?â
âBake. Bake!â Colbert continued, to which Harry replied again, âBeg?â
âBake. B-A-K-E. Bake,â the late-night host lip-synced. Harry then embraced Hammondâs jovial realization and fake laughed, saying, âOh bake!â

After the Instagram account for The Late Show shared the reel, Meghan Markle reposted it on her Instagram Stories.
Harry previously appeared on The Late Show for an interview in January 2023 and a special segment in March 2023.
During the January appearance, Harry discussed the “cathartic” process of writing his memoir, Spare. He chatted about his military service in Afghanistan, the worldwide fascination with the royal family and what his mother, the late Princess Diana, would make of it all today.
Harry candidly discussed that if his mother were alive, a rift wouldn’t have driven him and Prince William apart. “We wouldn’t have got to this moment,” Prince Harry told Colbert.
“It’s impossible to say where we would be now â where those relationships would be now â but there is no way that the distance between my brother and I would be the same.”

Prince Harry and Prince William’s strained relationship became public after Harry and Markle stepped back from their royal roles in the U.K. in 2020 and moved to California.
The divide deepened following the couple’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, their Netflix docuseries and Harryâs memoir, which didn’t hold back from offering commentary on the royal family.
Over the summer, reports suggested that Harry offered to share his official schedule with the royal family in what appeared to be an olive-branch gesture. The plan would provide transparency, avoiding conflicts between Harry and Meghan’s public outings and the British royal family’s engagements.
More recently, Harry had a groundbreaking meeting with his father, King Charles, in September, which marked their first meeting together in person in 19 months. A former royal aide told PEOPLE the reunion was âa massive step in the right direction.”
