“HE SAID ENGLAND SHOULD SACK THOMAS TUCHEL… WHILE STANDING JUST YARDS FROM THE TEAM.” 😳⚽🔥 BBC pundit Danny Murphy stunned viewers by declaring that Thomas Tuchel should lose his job—while the England squad warmed up just behind him ahead of the World Cup third-place playoff. Murphy argued that England had once again fallen short on the biggest stage and believed a managerial change was needed, despite the FA continuing to back Tuchel. But just minutes later, England stormed into a commanding lead and produced a thrilling victory, leaving Murphy’s bold pre-match verdict under even greater scrutiny.

DANNY MURPHY said England should AXE Thomas Tuchel while stood right next to the Three Lions team.

The former England international was discussing the future of the head coach as part of the BBC‘s pre-match coverage of Saturday’s bonkers third place World Cup play-off against France.

Tuchel has come under intense criticism for the nature of England’s semi-final defeat to Argentina on Wednesday.

The Three Lions were a goal up and powering towards the final when Anthony Gordon netted in the 55th minute.

But a negative retreat to the edge of their own box, and a shift to a five-at-the-back formation, saw Argentina regain control and complete a late comeback.

Tuchel says he wants to stay on, and the FA have backed him to lead England into Euro 2028.

But former Liverpool, Tottenham and Fulham midfielder Murphy reckons they would have been wise to cut ties.

And he shared his brutally honest opinion within YARDS of the England players warming up on the Hard Rock Stadium pitch behind him.

He said: “I think he will keep his job, but I don’t think he should. He’s failed, and he’s failed in the same way we’ve failed before.

“It’s the biggest tournament in the world, and he had his opportunity.

“I think he probably will get the vote of confidence, but I think they should make a change.”

Murphy was left red-faced shortly afterwards as England raced into a stunning 4-0 lead over France by half-time, and they ended up winning 6-4 after a thrilling 90 minutes.
