“‘HE NEEDS TO STOP ACTING LIKE A WORKING ROYAL.’” 👑😳 — HARRY’S LATEST UK VISIT HAS SPARKED A NEW WAVE OF CRITICISM Prince Harry’s recent trip to the UK has reignited controversy after ongoing disputes over his security arrangements reportedly disrupted plans and fueled fresh tensions behind the scenes. A royal commentator has now delivered a blunt assessment, arguing that the Duke continues to blur the line between his private life and the royal role he stepped away from years ago. But it was one particularly sharp remark about Harry’s decisions—and why this drama keeps repeating itself—that has royal watchers talking.

‘Paranoid’ Prince Harry urged to ‘stop’ after UK trip ‘circus’

The Duke of Sussex’s latest trip to the UK brought fresh drama and now an expert has spoken out.

Prince Harry was urged to “stop” creating drama and acting like a working royal when “he is not one”, following his recent chaotic trip to the UK. The Duke of Sussex visited Britain last month, but his arrival was shrouded in drama, mainly involving his security in the country. Harry has been involved in an ongoing legal battle with the Home Office over the security arrangements for him and his family when in the UK after his level of protection changed when he stepped down as a working royal in 2020.

When the duke lost a Court of Appeal challenge against the Home Office last year, he gave a BBC interview in which he expressed hopes for reconciliation with his family, revealing that Charles would not speak to him because of his security court case. The duke was waiting for a review by the Risk Management Board (RMB), part of the process by which the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) rules on his security requirements, but learned last month, ahead of his visit to the UK, that it had yet to take place. As of the time of writing, no decision on Harry’s security has been made.

Harry’s security arrangements played a huge role in his travel plans for July’s visit as he had hoped he could bring his whole family to the UK.

His wife, Meghan Markle, was expected to join him at some of the Invictus Games events he attended; however, she did not make any public appearances.

The Sussex family did manage to visit the UK and even met with the King and Queen at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire.

However, the duke has been criticised for the inconsistent statements issued by his camp and for changing his original travel plans.

Now, a royal commentator has weighed in on the drama and delivered a brutal verdict for the King’s younger son.

Royal expert Emily Andrews told Woman & Home magazine: “The drama with Prince Harry shows no sign of abating or calming down.

“His hoped-for family reunion unravelled into an unseemly row over who said what, when, where could people stay and why exactly he feels unsafe in the UK.”

She claimed that Harry being “paranoid” about his security in the UK is deeply rooted in the “lasting trauma” of the death of his mother, the late Princess Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.

Ms Andrews said: “He genuinely believes his wife and children aren’t safe in the UK without guards armed with guns. Even the offer of accommodation at Buckingham Palace and ‘safe passage’ in and out wasn’t good enough.

“I’m no security expert (and surely writing about his ‘kill count’ of 25 Taliban in his autobiography did not discourage any potential threats or terrorist plots against him), but this seems like an overreaction.”

She accused the duke of turning his UK trip into a “circus” with his “dithering, paranoia and indecision”.

The royal expert concluded: “For me, it was trying to combine the two things – his family and his work – that has proved so difficult.

“He is no longer a working royal. And so can’t act like one.”
