One touching photo shows Prince Harry walking with Archie and Lilibet along a tree-lined path, with Harry and Archie carrying large bouquets—fueling speculation they were on their way to Diana’s private gravesite.

Meghan Markle offered a rare look inside her family’s recent U.K. visit, including a stop at Althorp, Princess Diana’s childhood home.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, shared a collection of new photos on Instagram on Thursday, July 23, captioned simply, “Summer Holiday.”

One image shows Prince Harry, 41, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, from behind as they walk down a grassy path lined with trees and hedges. The photo is believed to have been taken at Althorp, the Spencer family’s ancestral estate where Diana grew up.

Harry and Archie are both seen carrying large bouquets, prompting speculation that the family may have visited Diana’s burial site, which is located on an island in the middle of the estate’s Oval Lake.

During the family’s recent visit to the U.K., they stayed at the 13,000-acre Northamptonshire estate as guests of Harry’s uncle, Charles Spencer. The trip gave Archie and Lilibet the opportunity to spend time at a place so closely tied to their late grandmother, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 when Harry was 12.

While at Althorp, the Sussexes also are believed to have spent time with other members of the Spencer family.

Princess Diana’s grave is located on a small island in the middle of Althorp’s Oval Lake and is not accessible to the public. Her brother, Charles Spencer, wrote in his book that its remoteness was intentional, with the lake “[acting] as a buffer against the interventions of the insane and ghoulish, the thick mud presenting a further line of defense.”

Charles has said it brings him comfort to know that Prince William and Prince Harry are able to visit their mother’s burial place privately.

“I think it’s very important for them to be there with her,” he previously told PEOPLE. “It is, luckily, very tranquil here, and they can come and go as they wish whenever they want. And that’s very lovely for me to know that.”

There was speculation that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s family would visit Althorp during their time in the U.K., as the estate’s website noted that it would be closed to visitors on July 10 and 11.

Prince Harry attended a series of charity events in the U.K. this month, although security issues prevented Meghan and the children from joining the full trip. Archie, Lilibet and Meghan did travel to the U.K., and their visit included a long-awaited reunion with King Charles and Queen Camilla. The King, 77, had not seen his California-based grandchildren since 2022.

It was not Meghan’s first time visiting Althorp. Prince Harry wrote in his 2023 memoir, Spare, about visiting the site on the 25th anniversary of Diana’s death in 2022, bringing his wife for the first time.

As they took a boat across the lake, Harry said he “gazed around at Althorp’s rolling fields and ancient trees, the thousands of green acres where my mother grew up, and where, though things weren’t perfect, she’d known some peace.”

Though Harry said the visit was admittedly not “easy,” he expressed his desire to share his mother’s final resting place with Meghan, writing, “At long last, I was bringing the girl of my dreams home to meet mum.”
