Valentin Barco’s wife labels Jude Bellingham ‘useless’ as slap row intensifies after England vs Argentina World Cup game
VALENTIN Barco’s wife has branded Jude Bellingham “useless” and bizarrely claimed the six-goal England hero should have done his talking on the pitch.
Model and influencer Yaz Juareguy posted a photo of the moment the Real Madrid star clipped her man around the ear.
It is believed to be a reaction to the left-back’s decision to jump and cheer in front of the England players after Enzo Fernandez equalised from long range in the 85th minute.
The former Brighton player was an unused substitute in Wednesday’s semi-final and Bellingham has been one of the tournament’s star players.
But despite their differing contributions to the World Cup, Juareguy said in a gloating post after Argentina’s 2-1 comeback victory: “It’s better to do the talking on the field.”
She ended her message by saying: “Muerto”, which in English literally translates as “dead” but in the context she wrote it in would be closer to “useless.”
After being criticised by some social media followers, the brunette removed her original post but doubled down on her defence of her partner by saying: “I didn’t know that suddenly you can’t celebrate goals, but you can endorse a violent person.
“Switch to a different sport if you’re going to cry so much. Good day.”
It was unclear at first why standout player Bellingham had smacked Strasbourg player Barco’s head from behind.
Footage that subsequently emerged the Argentinian running onto the pitch after Enzo Fernandez’s equaliser and celebrating in front of the England players rather than joining his team-mates by the corner flag put the incident in a new light.
Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, commentating for BBC Radio 5 Live, described Barco’s actions as “probably the worst example of sportsmanship we’ve seen at this World Cup.”
Barco was also seen appearing to mouth something to Bellingham before the pair physically interacted.
In December 2024 when the left-back was still with Brighton, the couple’s home was burgled days after Juareguy agreed to become his wife.
The burglary occurred at their place in Seville where the footballer was on loan at the time.
They started dating in December 2023. Yazmin began modelling aged 18 and now has 142,000 Instagram followers.
Their daughter Gemma was born in March last year. They got married just over a year ago.
Responding to Bellingham’s ear clipping today, one Argentinian fan said: “Does Barco play for Argentina? I thought he was the water boy.
“They say if you look, you’ll find, and he was the one who started provoking the other team and yelling in their faces.”
