Man in his 20s falls off cliff to his death at beauty spot which overlooks popular nude beach in California

A MAN in his 20s has plunged to his death from a cliff which overlooks a nude beach in California.
The tragedy happened at Bonny Doon Beach near Santa Cruz, at around 1.30am on Saturday as officials raced to the beauty spot to recover the man’s body.
He fell from the cliff near Bonny Doon Beach, with his body believed to have hit the rocks which sit halfway in the water.
“Around 1.30am, a man in his early 20s fell halfway down a cliff at Bonny Doon Beach and landed mid-cliff,” read a statement from the California fire department.
“Firefighters used a rope system to recover him. Unfortunately he did not survive.”
It is still unclear how the man fell or what he was doing on the cliff at the time.

Authorities are yet to identify the victim, or confirm if anyone was with him at the time.
Bonny Doon Beach is famous for its scenic high cliffs overlooking the ocean. Visitors are supposed to leave by sunset.
Photos showed the massive response from authorities, with multiple crews from several fire departments being deployed to the scene, as well as the coast guard.
His death comes just weeks after a rising tide trapped a group in a cave near Panther State Beach on the Santa Cruz County coast, less than a mile from Bonny Doon Beach.
A person texted 911 just before 8 pm to report that several people were trapped in a cave near Davenport as the water rose, according to Cal Fire CZU.
Several of the people there reportedly did not know how to swim.
There were two possible exits to escape the looming threat – through the water to a beach with bluff access, or onto a small pocket beach where the route up the bluff was too steep.
Five people who could swim waded out of the cave with the help of the lifeguards, authorities said.
The remaining three who could not swim were hoisted by the Coast Guard to a nearby bluff.
