‘I’m F*ing Divorced’: Pep Guardiola’s Explosive Dressing-Room Confession Leaves Man City Stars Stunned**
The former Manchester City boss opened up about his painful split from Cristina Serra in an extraordinary team talk — before turning his heartbreak into a furious demand for more passion from his players.
Pep Guardiola reportedly stunned his Manchester City players when he revealed the deeply personal pain behind his increasingly intense touchline persona.
In newly revealed footage from the documentary A Beautiful Obsession, Guardiola can be seen addressing his squad after a Champions League defeat, speaking openly about his divorce from Cristina Serra and the impact it had on him.
“I’m f***ing divorced from the most beautiful woman on your planet,” Guardiola told his players.
The 55-year-old then admitted that despite still loving his former wife, the couple had “lost the passion” in their relationship.
But the emotional confession quickly became something much bigger.
Guardiola used his own experience to challenge his players, demanding that they rediscover the passion he felt was missing from their performances.
“In your life whatever you are going to do, do it with passion,” he told the squad. “I don’t want good players, I want players with passion.”
The extraordinary moment came after City suffered a 2-0 defeat to Juventus, with Guardiola visibly frustrated by what he had seen from his team.
He later delivered an even more brutal message.
“I leave my life, my divorce, my family is away — and everything for all of you,” he said. “And what do you give back. The f***ing performance you’ve just done — all of you.”
“It’s a disgrace, guys,” Guardiola continued, before issuing a chilling warning: “You will have another manager.”
The documentary offers an unusually intimate look at the manager during one of the most difficult periods of his personal life.
Guardiola and Serra separated in December 2024 after more than a decade together, with their relationship reportedly having faced difficulties for several years.
The couple had three children together, and Serra had moved to Manchester when Guardiola took charge of City in 2016.
Their separation was publicly reported in early 2025, although reports have since suggested that Guardiola remains hopeful the relationship could eventually be repaired.
Spanish journalist Lorena Vazquez suggested that the door to a reconciliation may not be completely closed, particularly if Guardiola eventually returns to Barcelona after retirement.
Meanwhile, Guardiola’s close friend and former City colleague Manuel Estiarte explained why the manager’s emotional struggles needed to be understood by the players.
“He’s getting a divorce,” Estiarte said in the documentary, explaining that the squad needed to see Guardiola not simply as their demanding manager, but as “a human being.”
The footage also shows Guardiola reflecting on the changes in his personal life.
“I’ve got divorced and I have to settle a bit,” he admitted.
Asked whether he was happy, Guardiola gave a typically blunt answer:
“In my job, yeah.”
The explosive dressing-room footage could offer fans a rare glimpse into what was happening behind the scenes — and why Guardiola’s demands for intensity and passion became even more personal during one of the most turbulent chapters of his life.
