“The date seems pretty exhausting to me.”

It’s the lasagna date reality TV fans have been dreaming about. Only it doesn’t seem to involve lasagna. And that could be a problem.
It appeared as though it could be love at first sight for Jelly Loblack and Ori Jane-Charles when they landed on the same beach back on day 1 of Survivor 51. But then these two potential lovebirds were cruelly split apart when they were thrown into different tribes. However, a tribe swap brought Jelly and Ori back together, and they wasted no time re-engaging their flirtmance — with Ori even practicing his nonexistent pickup lines on her.
Of course, every relationship has obstacles, and Entertainment Weekly has gotten our grubby little mitts on an exclusive unaired scene that shows what might be the proverbial first bump in the road on the highway of love.
The scene, which you can watch below, begins with Alexis Levine on day 10 speaking for all of us. “It’s a funny little subplot here with Ori and Jelly,” Alexis notes. “I mean, they would be a cute couple. I support it.”
She then adds: “As long as he doesn’t replace me with her as his number one.” (Whoops!)
For her part, Jelly is more than happy to lean into the subplot, telling viewers, “I’m single. Everybody Jeff’s put me on a tribe with has been married and happy, and that’s great. But I came to flirt. Ori’s my first chance, right? So I’m like, okay, let me see if that’s someone worth my time in flirting.”
The scene then shifts to Jelly and Ori in the shelter, with Jelly inquiring what they would be doing together if she came to New York. So let’s hear about that dream date, Ori!
“First we go to, like, this hood-like seafood spot,” he explains. “It’s, like, on the pier, carnival games, I mean, all that. Ice cream, cotton candy, all that. Whatever you want — fill your belly up.”
Suffice it to say, Jelly is less than impressed.

“So Ori’s idea of a date, like, wasn’t giving innovative,” she says. “It wasn’t giving, ‘Oh, this is a New York experience.’”
Jelly then asks her flirtmance partner if she can at least get a very New York slice of pizza, and he agrees, while adding, “You like your museums and arts and stuff.”
“Do I?” responds Jelly, who later tells us in a confessional interview, “The date seems pretty exhausting to me, and I’m not a museum girl, if I’m being honest. And I don’t really eat seafood.”
Uh-oh, sounds like two strikes already. So Jelly tries to shift the discussion. “What’s your drink of choice?” she asks.
Ori’s response: “I don’t drink.”

Hahahahahaha! Honestly, I could keep recounting the entire conversation, but why do so, because trust me, it’s much funnier to watch this horror show — which includes Jelly calling Ori “unrefined” — go down for yourself. And I heartily recommend you do so.
But it is worth nothing that the scene also shows more of Jelly’s internal debate as to whether she should vote out yet another women… which she would eventually decide to do in taking out Alexis instead of ally Devin Way.
“You know, on paper, it would seem like an equal war, right?” she muses. “You have old Savu, Alexis and Ori, and old Toka, me and Devin. But I know the boys like to stick together, right? Everybody who’s been eliminated thus far has been a woman. The only man to leave this game quit. Do we want to keep contributing to this? Beause I sure don’t. So maybe we do something about it. Maybe we flip the script and these guys gotta go.”
Or… maybe not!
Check out the whole scene for yourself below, and keep your fingers crossed for Jelly and Ori’s hopefully pizza-filled first date.
