Shakira caught fans’ attention after sharing a cozy photo with Tom Cruise following the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, years after the pair were first linked by dating rumors.
On her social media, the singer posted a collection of behind-the-scenes moments from the World Cup final at New York New Jersey Stadium. Among them was a smiling snapshot of herself standing arm-in-arm with the Hollywood star.
“Look who stopped by to say hello and wish me luck. We love you so much,” Shakira wrote alongside the photo, while tagging Cruise’s official account.

The friendly photo quickly spread across social media, reviving the dating rumors that surrounded the pair a few years ago.
At the time, however, a source close to Shakira dismissed the speculation. Speaking to Us Magazine, the insider said, “Shakira had a wonderful time with Tom at Formula 1, but she was never interested in dating him. She thinks Tom is a great person and would happily be friends with him, but nothing more.”
Earlier in the evening, Shakira lit up the World Cup halftime show with a high-energy performance of her hit Dai Dai, turning the stadium into one giant celebration.
Speaking about the song before the performance, Shakira explained that it carries a message that goes far beyond music.
“This song means more to me than any other because it represents something much bigger—the importance of investing in children’s education and giving them the opportunity to become future champions. That’s the message I wanted to share on the World Cup final stage,” she said.
