‘Upset’ Bradley Walsh Loses It in Unearthed The Chase Moment

Bradley Walsh has one particular rule on the set of The Chase — and an unaired clip has revealed just how seriously the ITV presenter takes it.

The 65-year-old host was filmed telling off a contestant after she repeatedly reached towards the question desk during filming. The awkward exchange quickly turned into a hilarious moment when she revealed that she already knew about Walsh’s apparent obsession with keeping contestants away from the desk.

The previously unaired footage, which has since circulated on social media, features a contestant named Shirin asking where she should put her hands as she reached towards the surface in front of her.

‘Do not touch the desk’

“I beg your pardon,” Walsh immediately exclaimed.

“No, do not touch the desk, whatever you do. Don’t touch the desk.”

Shirin repeatedly reassured him with: “OK, OK,” while keeping her hands away from the desk.

But she then revealed that she had seen some of the show’s bloopers.

“I’ve seen the bloopers, I know that you are really protective of the desk,” she said before bursting into laughter.

Walsh, however, did not immediately see the funny side.

“Say what?” he replied.

When Shirin repeated what she had said, Walsh threw his arms out in disbelief.

“That’s a joke though!” he exclaimed.

He then turned towards the show’s off-screen production team and demanded to know why the desk-related moments had been included in the blooper reels.

“Why have you been putting that in the bloopers?” he asked.

Bradley turns his own rule upside down

The situation became even more amusing when Walsh suddenly appeared to abandon the very rule he had just been enforcing.

He began repeatedly slapping the desk while gritting his teeth.

“Touch the desk as much as you like,” he shouted.

“It’s not my desk! Shirin, you can touch it. Touch it!”

Shirin cautiously placed her hand on the surface.

“Touch it!” Walsh insisted.

When she did so, he encouraged her to go even further.

“No, more than that. Feel free!”

The contestant then admitted that she had been worried about annoying him.

“I didn’t want to upset anyone,” she said.

The exchange eventually broke down into laughter, with Walsh finally joining in.

What began as a serious instruction had turned into one of those unscripted moments that viewers rarely get to see in the finished programme.

It isn’t Bradley’s first memorable blooper

Walsh has featured in plenty of The Chase outtakes over the years, including one particularly memorable exchange with Chaser Shaun Wallace, known as The Dark Destroyer.

In the unaired scene, Wallace attempted to intimidate a contestant with a quip about sending them on a “road trip” — specifically, a bus back to Blackpool.

However, Wallace’s speech was slightly slurred, making the threat sound considerably less intimidating than intended.

Walsh immediately seized on it.

“What, you’ve got a mouthful of marbles? What’re you doing?” he joked.

Another person off camera, Ocean, joined in by saying: “He’s got a mouthful of conkers!”

Walsh continued the joke, replying: “Indeed, he’s got his own conkers in his mouth.”

Wallace then delivered a cheeky response:

“Wouldn’t be the first time.”

The remark left Walsh completely stunned.

The presenter took several moments to compose himself as the audience erupted into laughter.

The latest clip involving Shirin offered another glimpse of the lighter, unscripted side of The Chase — and showed that even one of Walsh’s strictest rules can become the punchline when the cameras keep rolling.
