Tipping Point viewers were left baffled during the latest episode after one of the questions put to a contestant was branded so easy that fans could hardly believe it had made it onto the ITV quiz show.
Host Ben Shephard returned to front the popular daytime programme, welcoming Hollie, Stef and Jonny as the three contestants battled through a series of questions in the hope of winning a substantial cash prize.
But while the contestants faced the pressure of the game, some viewers were far more distracted by the difficulty of the questions.
‘How many months in a year?’
The moment that sparked the biggest reaction came when Ben turned to Stef during one round and asked: “In the western calendar, how many months are there in a year?”
Stef correctly answered the question, allowing her to continue in the competition.
However, the seemingly straightforward question immediately caught the attention of viewers watching at home, with some taking to Twitter to question why such an elementary piece of general knowledge had been included.
One viewer joked: “How many months in a year? Some very challenging questions today.”
Another was even more critical, writing: “How many months in a year? Oh Jesus Christ ITV, you are seriously taking the p*!”**
A third viewer sarcastically described it as “an absolute mind-boggler”, while another simply responded: “How many months in a year??? Huh??”
The reaction quickly turned the question into one of the main talking points from the episode, with fans questioning the overall difficulty of the latest batch of questions.
Stef makes it to the final
Despite the criticism surrounding the question, Stef went on to prove herself as a strong contestant and successfully reached the final round.
She managed to win £3,550 from the famous Tipping Point machine and was then faced with a difficult decision: whether to gamble her winnings for the chance to win the £10,000 star counter.
Ultimately, Stef decided to keep the money she had already secured rather than risk it.
Ben and Stef later played the star counter purely for fun to see where it would land.
Unfortunately for Stef, the result made the decision even more painful.
The counter landed exactly where it needed to, meaning she would have won the £10,000 had she decided to play for it.
Although she missed out on the larger prize, Stef still walked away with the £3,550 she had secured during the show.
