Ben Shephard was left completely gobsmacked on Tipping Point after a contestant from Wales admitted she had no idea who one of the country’s most famous boxing champions was.
The awkward moment came as Hannah battled Aisha for a place in the final round of the ITV quiz show, with the pair taking turns answering questions in an increasingly tense contest.
Hannah had already eliminated Joe and Danny and appeared to be in a strong position. But when a question about Welsh boxing came up, her lack of knowledge left Ben joking that she might not be allowed back into Wales.

“I think she’ll know”
Aisha was asked: “Which boxer won BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2007, the first Welsh winner since 1960?”
With no multiple-choice answers available, Aisha had to rely on her own knowledge.
She believed Hannah, who was from Wales, would surely know the answer if she failed to get it herself.
“I’m going to give a guess because I think she’ll know,” Aisha told Ben.
She then suggested: “I think his name’s Barry McGuigan.”
The guess was wrong—but the bigger surprise was still to come.

Hannah admits she has “no idea”
Ben turned to Hannah and asked who she would have chosen had she been given the opportunity to answer.
Hannah’s response left the presenter momentarily speechless.
“Embarrassingly, I have no idea,” she admitted.
Ben reacted with a huge gasp before joking: “They’re not going to let you back over the bridge.”
Hannah agreed with the joke, admitting she was thinking exactly the same thing.
“I was just thinking that. I’m so ashamed I don’t know. I should know that,” she said.
Ben then delivered the verdict: “You really should know it.”
The correct answer was eventually revealed as Joe Calzaghe, the Welsh boxing legend who won BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2007.
Aisha’s original guess of Barry McGuigan was also incorrect, as McGuigan is Irish rather than Welsh.
Hannah escapes the question
Although Hannah did not have to answer the question herself, she could be seen in the background anxiously watching as Aisha attempted to provide an answer.
Aisha’s incorrect guess meant the contest continued, with both women facing more questions as they fought for the remaining place in the final.
Eventually, it was Aisha who fell at the final hurdle, leaving Hannah to compete for the jackpot.
Hannah walks away with £2,800
Hannah entered the final round with a jackpot of £1,950 and hoped to build her prize fund towards the show’s top prize of £10,000.
After using her available counters, she ultimately decided to walk away with £2,800.
Had she chosen to risk her winnings by playing three final counters, it appeared the amount would not have been enough to secure the £10,000 jackpot.
Viewers were also watching the dramatic finale closely, with one person commenting on Twitter: “Look how close that got. Oh, Ben #tippingpoint.”
For Hannah, however, the biggest talking point of the episode may well have been the moment she was forced to admit that she couldn’t name Joe Calzaghe—despite being the Welsh contestant Ben clearly expected to know the answer.
Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
