Bradley Walsh could barely contain himself on The Chase after a seemingly innocent art question produced an answer that sent the presenter into fits of laughter—before an unexpected twist left Anne Hegerty completely stumped.
Bradley Walsh cried with laughter over a rude answer on The Chase
During Tuesday’s episode of the ITV quiz show, contestant Michael faced The Governess in the head-to-head round.
The question appeared straightforward enough. Bradley asked: “Which of these is a painting by Vincent Van Gogh?”
The three options were:
A) Lying Mare
B) Lying Hound
C) Lying Cow
But it was the third option that immediately caught Bradley’s attention.
Bradley can’t stop laughing
As soon as Bradley read out “Lying Cow”, the 60-year-old presenter burst into laughter.
“Only on this show could you do that. Absolutely brilliant!” he joked.
Michael selected B) Lying Hound, prompting another laugh from Bradley.
“It’s not gonna be Lying Cow,” he quipped.
However, Bradley’s confidence that the cheeky-sounding option was simply there for comic effect was about to backfire spectacularly.
The correct answer was, in fact, C) Lying Cow.
Anne Hegerty tried to keep a straight face

When the answer was revealed, Bradley completely lost it.
The presenter laughed hysterically alongside the audience before wiping tears from his eyes.
“I love this show!” he exclaimed.
Still unable to get over the result, Bradley repeated: “This is great, Lying Cow, absolutely brilliant.”
While Bradley was having the time of his life, Anne attempted to maintain her famously serious expression.
But the real surprise came when the show revealed what The Governess had chosen.

Bradley turned his attention towards Anne and immediately suspected that she had failed to identify the correct painting.
“Chaser’s put… she won’t get this. Not in a million years. So obscure this painting,” he said.
He was right.
Anne had selected A) Lying Mare, meaning she had missed the correct answer.
The unusual question and Bradley’s uncontrollable laughter proved too much for the studio audience, who joined in with the presenter as Anne tried to keep a straight face.
Despite getting that question wrong, however, Anne remained a formidable opponent.
She answered her other questions correctly and ultimately caught Michael, preventing him from joining his teammates in the Final Chase.
The bizarre Vincent Van Gogh question therefore became one of those unforgettable Chase moments where the answer that sounds like the punchline turns out to be the correct one.
