The 1% Club Player Beats Two Rivals to Win £96,000 Jackpot — But Would You Have Got the Answer?

One contestant misread the question, another gave the wrong number, and only one player managed to crack the final puzzle and walk away with a £96,000 jackpot.

The dramatic moment came on The 1% Club Rollover, a spin-off of Lee Mack’s popular ITV quiz show in which contestants who reach the 1% question can return the following day for another chance at the prize.

During the latest episode, three contestants — Jack Kettle, Dominic Jackson and Dom Hall — made it all the way to the crucial 1% question.

That left them with a shot at sharing or claiming the huge £96,000 prize, but everything came down to one fiendishly difficult puzzle.

Could You Solve the 1% Question?

Lee Mack introduced the final challenge by telling the contestants:

“I keep forgetting my four-digit PIN number. I know each digit is higher than the previous digit but I need this diagram to remember it. What is my four-digit PIN number?”

The screen displayed a diagram made up of four rows of capital letters arranged in seemingly random positions.

The contestants had 30 seconds to work out the four-digit PIN.

When time ran out, Lee asked each player for their answer.

Jack nervously replied:

“9841, but I misread the question.”

Dominic Jackson gave 1489, while Dom Hall answered 1469.

Then came the reveal.

One Player Gets It Right

Lee announced that the correct answer was 1489.

That meant Dominic Jackson was the only contestant to solve the puzzle correctly, securing the entire £96,000 jackpot for himself.

The result left the other two contestants eliminated after making it all the way to the show’s toughest question.

And with only a small percentage of the public expected to solve the challenge within the time limit, the final puzzle certainly lived up to its reputation.

Another Contestant Recently Made 1% Club History

Dominic’s victory came shortly after another contestant achieved an even bigger milestone on the show.

Lucie Alcock became the latest contestant to win the full £100,000 jackpot after solving a difficult final question that had left the other players struggling.

Lucie was asked:

“What letter of the alphabet replaces the question mark in this sentence: ANGLE RE GON ?”

The answer was N.

The puzzle involved the names of shapes and the number of letters removed from the beginning of each word corresponding to the number of sides of the shape.

The sequence was Triangle, Square, Pentagon and Hexagon, with the missing letter represented by N.

After revealing the answer, Lee asked Lucie how long it had taken her to work it out.

The student, visibly stunned by her own success, laughed and replied that it had taken her “about half the time” before adding: “Oh, my god.”

Her victory made Lucie only the second person to win the show’s full £100,000 prize, alongside Clarke Carlisle, who achieved the feat during a celebrity special.

But this time it was Dominic Jackson who took centre stage, solving the final puzzle while his two rivals fell just short.
