ITV Tipping Point viewers ‘couldn’t breathe’ as contestant risks £3,600 for £10,000 jackpot — then his emotional reason leaves fans rooting for him

Tipping Point viewers were left on the edge of their seats after contestant Darren made a huge gamble that could have seen him walk away with nothing — all for the chance to win the £10,000 jackpot.

The North London bomb broker had already secured £3,600 and reached the final round, where host Ben Shephard offered him a difficult choice: take the money and walk away, or trade it for three more counters in a bid to win the much bigger prize.

The catch was brutal. If Darren failed, he would lose the £3,600 he had already won.

But there was a very personal reason behind his decision.

Darren explained that he had always promised himself he would take the risk if he made it to the final, revealing that he was dreaming of using the winnings to enjoy a honeymoon with his wife.

“I’ve always said that if I make it this far I would take the risk and go for the big money,” he told Ben.

His decision immediately had viewers holding their breath.

Things appeared to go badly at first when Darren struggled on Drop Zone 4 and failed to knock down any counters with his opening attempt.

“No, you must be kidding me,” he exclaimed.

But the tension soon turned into celebration as the machine finally delivered, with Darren’s gamble paying off and the contestant landing the £10,000 jackpot.

Overcome with excitement, Darren hugged Ben and admitted: “Wow, there is no way, that is unbelievable. It was a nail biter.”

When Ben asked what he planned to do with the money, Darren couldn’t hide his happiness.

“This is great. It means I can go on a lovely honeymoon and not worry about it, enjoy some relaxation and a few drinks at the bar,” he said.

The emotional payoff quickly won over viewers watching at home, with many taking to social media to celebrate Darren’s decision.

“And I can breathe again, that was intense, well done Darren!” one viewer posted.

Another wrote: “Yay Darren. So pleased for you mate, have a fab honeymoon with Mrs Darren.”

A third admitted: “I was on the edge of my seat then! Well played Darren.”

What could have ended with Darren losing everything instead became the perfect television moment — a £3,600 gamble that turned into a £10,000 honeymoon win.
