A contestant on The 1% Club left host Lee Mack stunned after revealing that he was already a National Lottery winner with a fortune of £6.1 million — yet he had still come on the show hoping to win another £100,000.
The ITV quiz show puts 100 contestants through a series of questions based on logic and common sense, with the ultimate prize of £100,000 waiting for anyone who can make it through to the final.
But during a repeat episode, Lee discovered that one contestant had already experienced a much bigger stroke of luck.

‘I Won the Lottery’
Early in the show, Lee spoke to contestants who had already been eliminated after failing to answer the opening question correctly.
One of them was Kevin Jones, whom Lee described as having been “unlucky tonight.”
“Are you usually unlucky?” Lee asked.
Kevin’s response produced quite the opposite reaction.
“I’ve been very lucky in the past,” he explained.
When Lee asked what he meant, Kevin simply replied: “I won the lottery.”
The revelation immediately caught the host’s attention.

Lee asked whether Kevin was a National Lottery winner.
“I am. I won six million,” Kevin replied.
The studio erupted in cheers and applause.
“Six million quid!?” Lee exclaimed.
Kevin then clarified that his actual prize was even higher — £6.1 million.

Lee Mack Has a Joke at His Expense
With the huge lottery win now revealed, Lee couldn’t resist teasing Kevin for attempting to add another £100,000 to his winnings.
“You wanted another 100 grand. You greedy sod!” the host joked.
Kevin laughed and explained that he had primarily joined the show for the challenge.
“I wanted to come on here for the challenge, but sadly I’ve not done very well,” he admitted.

The studio broke into laughter.
Lee then delivered another playful remark, pointing out how fitting it was that Kevin had been eliminated on the very first question.
Despite the jokes, Kevin’s appearance showed that even someone who had already experienced a life-changing lottery win could still be tempted by the challenge of The 1% Club.
Another Contestant Faced a Cheating Accusation
The episode also brought back memories of another The 1% Club controversy involving contestant Jason Duckett.
Viewers had previously claimed that Jason appeared to be trying to signal an answer to other contestants, including his wife.
During a 20% question asking which body part could have one letter added to the beginning to create the word for the job it does, Jason appeared to touch his ears.
“Ear” was indeed the correct answer.
However, Jason later insisted that his gesture was simply a coincidence and denied that he had been trying to help anyone.
The DJ explained that he had been doing it to calm himself and said there was nothing to gain because both he and his wife were already out of the game.
The couple were eventually eliminated.
For Kevin, meanwhile, the £100,000 prize remained out of reach — but considering the £6.1 million he had already won, he could certainly afford to laugh about it.
