California Father Arrested After Allegedly Finding Wife’s Lover in Bed With Their Children as Neighbours Reveal Dramatic Police Response

A California father accused of fatally stabbing his wife’s alleged lover was calmly escorted from his home by police after a shocking early-morning incident that reportedly unfolded in front of the couple’s two young children.

Ismael Pinedalopez, 34, is accused of killing Nicholas Garcia, 28, at his home in Anaheim on October 24. According to authorities, Pinedalopez allegedly discovered Garcia in his bedroom with his wife and their children, aged two and four, before attacking him with a pocket knife.

Newly obtained surveillance footage shows two officers leading Pinedalopez out of the property and towards a waiting patrol car, its emergency lights flashing. The video, obtained by the California Post from a neighbour, captures the suspect appearing calm as he is taken into custody.

Garcia died at the scene from his injuries. Authorities said Pinedalopez’s wife and the children were not physically harmed.

Neighbours Hear Police Shouting During Early-Morning Arrest

Next-door neighbour Elizabeth Polanco, 71, told the California Post that she heard the commotion as officers arrived at the property in the early hours of October 24.

She recalled hearing police shouting “get out” at around 4.15am, as they dealt with the situation inside the home.

Polanco also offered insight into the family’s daily routine, explaining that Pinedalopez worked night shifts while his wife worked during the day. According to the neighbour, he regularly looked after their two children while she was at work.

Investigators have said Pinedalopez allegedly discovered his wife’s infidelity after returning home from work earlier than expected.

Polanco said she had never noticed anything suggesting serious problems between the couple and described them as “nice people”.

“This is terrible. I never imagined there would be anything scandalous like this,” she said.

Neighbour Describes Suspect as a Devoted Father

Polanco expressed surprise at the allegations surrounding the couple’s relationship, describing the wife as a “very good girl” while suggesting that she may have acted irresponsibly if the reported affair was true.

She also revealed that the woman had turned to her for help following the incident, asking Polanco to look after her daughter while she went out to run an errand.

The neighbour said Pinedalopez had never struck her as someone capable of violence.

“He’s very nice, easy going, never upset,” Polanco said.

She also recalled seeing him regularly caring for his children, adding: “He was always there with the kids.”

Her account offers a glimpse into the family’s life before the alleged killing, which has left neighbours shocked by the violence reported inside the home.

District Attorney Condemns Children Witnessing Alleged Killing

Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer expressed particular concern about the impact of the incident on the couple’s young children, who allegedly witnessed their father attack Garcia.

“Violence is never the answer, and it is truly heartbreaking that these young children had to witness their father commit such a horrific act of brutality in their own home,” Spitzer said.

Authorities confirmed that neither the wife nor the children suffered physical injuries during the incident. However, the circumstances have raised serious concerns about the trauma the young siblings may have experienced.

Pinedalopez Faces Up to 26 Years to Life if Convicted

Pinedalopez has been charged with felony murder, along with an enhancement allegation that he personally used a deadly weapon during the alleged attack.

He waived an earlier opportunity to be arraigned, and court records show that his arraignment and bail review are scheduled for December 1.

If convicted on all counts, he could face a maximum sentence of 26 years to life in prison.

Pinedalopez has retained attorney George Karl Rosenstock of The United Firm to represent him.

The case remains ongoing, and the allegations against Pinedalopez have yet to be tested in court. Meanwhile, the arrest footage and neighbours’ accounts have added further details to a case that has deeply unsettled the quiet Anaheim neighbourhood.
