Bradley Walsh was left open-mouthed after two contestants achieved something that had never happened to Chaser Paul Sinha before during the opening rounds of The Chase.
Wednesday’s episode saw Michael, Ross, Joel and Elizabeth team up in the hope of building a big prize pot and taking down The Sinnerman.
But the drama began almost immediately when Michael and Ross both produced remarkable performances in their individual cash builders.
Two contestants bank £10,000 each
Michael was first to face the questions and got the team off to a dream start by answering enough questions correctly to build a £10,000 cash builder.
Bradley was delighted with his performance, but Paul Sinha attempted to tempt him into taking an even bigger risk.
The Chaser offered Michael a huge £30,000 higher offer.
However, Michael refused to gamble and opted to stick with his £10,000.
He then successfully navigated his head-to-head against Paul and returned to the table, securing his place in the final.
Ross was next up — and somehow matched Michael.
He also managed to bank £10,000 during his cash builder, leaving Bradley and Paul stunned.
As Paul sat down to face him, the Chaser admitted he could barely believe what had happened.
“Well, I can’t speak for any of the other Chasers, but that is definitely the first time two players have got ten or more in their cash-builders against me,” Paul said.
He then joked: “So hang around until the end, I think I am going to need a nurse at the end of this session.”
Ross also managed to defeat Paul and joined Michael in the final.

Joel adds another £5,000
Joel was the third contestant to take on The Sinnerman.
Before facing the Chaser, he told Bradley that if the team won, he hoped to use his share of the money to get his driving licence and buy a Maserati.
He then delivered another strong performance and successfully made it through to the final, taking the team’s total prize fund to £25,000.
That left Elizabeth as the final player.
She revealed that she had plans for the winnings too, admitting the money would help with her “expensive” shoe habit.
Unfortunately for Elizabeth, her run came to an end when Paul caught her just two spaces from home.
She was eliminated, leaving Michael, Ross and Joel to fight for the £25,000 prize.
The team puts Paul under serious pressure
The three remaining contestants began the final chase with an impressive 20-step target.
Paul had a difficult task ahead of him as the team repeatedly pushed him backwards with correct answers.
Michael, Ross and Joel managed to send The Sinnerman back four times, leaving him five steps behind with the clock running down.
Despite Paul’s best efforts, the team held their nerve.
When the final timer expired, the three contestants had successfully kept the Chaser at bay — securing a memorable victory and taking the £25,000 prize.
For Paul, the episode proved particularly painful after watching two contestants make history against him in the opening rounds.
