Bradley Walsh Bursts Into Laughter on The Chase After Celebrity Contestant Gets a Seriously Cheeky Question

Bradley Walsh struggled to keep a straight face on The Chase when a surprisingly cheeky question sent the presenter into a fit of giggles live in the studio.

The host was fronting a celebrity special of the ITV quiz show, with four famous faces taking on Chaser Shaun Wallace in a bid to raise money for charity.

Singer Toyah Willcox, former footballer John Barnes, writer Germaine Greer and former boxer Audley Harrison were the celebrities stepping up to the challenge.

Toyah was first to face the questions and successfully added £6,000 to the jackpot after earning her place in the final.

John then matched that total during his Cash Builder, but it was one particular question in his head-to-head that completely derailed Bradley.

The presenter asked John and Shaun:

“In which sport might a ‘tight end’ get ‘stiff-armed’?”

The wording was enough to make Bradley gasp and visibly struggle to contain himself.

But the moment that finally broke him came when he began reading through the possible answers.

One option was “synchronised swimming.”

Bradley immediately lost control, collapsing forward onto the question board as laughter erupted around the studio.

The audience joined in, while Bradley tried desperately to recover his composure. He then glanced towards the celebrity team and spotted Germaine Greer looking particularly horrified by the whole exchange.

“Look at Germaine’s face!” Bradley exclaimed.

The presenter eventually managed to regain his composure, allowing John to continue with his head-to-head against Shaun.

John successfully defeated the Chaser and secured his place in the Final Chase.

Germaine later added £3,000 to the jackpot, while Audley contributed another £1,000, giving the celebrities a strong team of four for the final round.

As they prepared to face Shaun, Bradley appeared confident that the Chaser had his work cut out.

“You’re nervous now, aren’t you?” Bradley teased.

Shaun refused to show any concern, replying: “Please, I’m a champion.”

Audley was equally confident about the celebrities’ chances.

“We have a strong team of four, I think he’s in trouble,” he declared.

The confidence proved justified.

All four celebrities put together a strong performance in the Final Chase, building a lead that Shaun was ultimately unable to overcome.

The team successfully beat The Dark Destroyer and walked away having raised £16,000 for their respective charities.

Bradley Has Had to Rein Shaun in Before

The latest episode was not the first time Bradley has been forced to intervene when a Chaser became a little too carried away.

Earlier in the week, the host told Shaun to “calm down” during an exchange involving celebrity contestant Gregg Wallace and comedian Gina Yashere.

Shaun had joked that he and Gregg shared the same hairstyle and surname, describing Gregg as his “tribute act.”

Gregg quickly returned fire, joking that unlike Shaun, he knew how to make his bald head and glasses look good.

Shaun then turned his attention towards Gina, prompting Bradley to step in before the exchange could turn into an impromptu comedy routine.

“Don’t start doing your own stand-up routine in here, cockle,” Bradley warned him.

“Calm down!”

Whether dealing with an overexcited Chaser or an unexpectedly suggestive quiz question, Bradley has once again shown that keeping control of the studio is sometimes just as difficult as answering the questions.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
