American Idol viewers were up in arms after the winner of Season 24 of the reality singing competition was unveiled, with some arguing that another contestant was ‘robbed’
Season 24 of American Idol has officially come to a close, and many viewers at home were having a meltdown over the final winner.
On Monday, May 11, American Idol fans were on the edge of their seats as the three talented finalists took the stage for the season finale of the hit ABC reality series. Hannah Harper, Jordan McCullough and Keyla Richardson were the final three to make it to the finale after last week’s semifinals, which saw the elimination of Chris Tungseth and Braden Rumfelt.
After a series of compelling performances from each of the gifted aspring singers, one country star Hannah Harper emerged victorious after being mentored by Alicia Keys during the finale. This comes as White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt threw her support behind Jordan ahead of the season finale.
After the news was announced, American Idol fans took to X sharing their live reaction to the news, with many arguing that Jordan was “robbed” of the honor.
One critic fumed, “OF COURSE IT HAD TO BE HANNAH OF FUCKING COURSE tbh Hannah harper looked like she was set to win this competition from the very start, from the moment of that string cheese audition the competition was over and all the judges treated her like she was queen of music. even carrie treated her like she was her f—–g daughter…. the title could have gone to other deserving contestants but nooooooooooo it had to be hannah right??!?!! THIS SEASON SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED.”

Another disappointed viewer posted, “AMERICA GOT THIS ONE ABSOLUTELY WRONG!! JORDAN MCCULLOUGH SHOULD HAVE BEEN NAMED THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL; NOT THAT LAME HANNAH HARPER!!!!!”
To which another viewer agreed, “Hannah Harper winning is so disappointing. Jordan outperformed her from day 1 Just because the audition pulled people string the judges pulled her to the top 13 She should’ve never got that far #americanidol.”
And a fourth echoed, “I cannot believe Hannah Harper won @AmericanIdol. Jordan has the craziest voice I’ve heard in years. I’m so sick of the country music vote overtaking this show. Ya’ll go watch some country only competition. Leave American Idol for the people that can actually sing.”

Amid the string of hate, many also defended Hannah with one supporter posting, “Hannah Harper won American Idol and people are genuinely having meltdowns over it. This is what reality TV is FOR — every year someone gets ‘robbed’ and every year the winner proves them wrong. Congrats Hannah.”
