BBC World Cup Final viewers divided as they say same thing about closing ceremony

Football fans were left divided as they tuned in to watch the closing ceremony ahead of tonight’s final.
The World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina, taking place at New York/New Jersey Stadium in the USA, is being shown on both ITV and the BBC.
Argentina claimed a 2-1 win over England in their semi-final, while Spain defeated France to reach the World Cup’s showpiece fixture.
Ahead of the game, BBC iPlayer aired the closing ceremony, which saw Post Malone and IShowSpeed performing – and viewers were left divided by it.
One viewer said on X, “What in the flat earth is going on right now?!”

Another went on, “Worst closing ceremony.. obviously low budget.”
While a third added, “The World Cup closing show was terrible—lousy production, just like the opening ceremony.”
However, not everyone shared the same views, as many were thrilled to see Post Malone perform.
“#GOAL #POSTMALONE at the #WorldCup closing ceremony! WOW! Wish I could be there,” one said on X.
Another went on, “The way our whole house lit up when IShowSpeed came on! We were cheering as we knew him personally.”
Someone else commented, “First time seeing ishowspeed locked in.”

Meanwhile, for the first time in World Cup history, the tournament will feature a half-time show with some star-studded performances.
The World Cup final half-time show has been curated by Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin and features Shakira and Burna Boy, who co-wrote the anthem for this World Cup.
Madonna and Justin Bieber will also be headlining the controversial half-time show.
Last night, England beat France 6-4 to claim third place in the World Cup Bronze Final.
