Paul McCartney Talks New Album ‘The Boys of Dungeon Lane’ with Paul Mescal Ahead of LP’s May 29 Release — Preview/Pre-Order

It’s nearly here: The Boys of Dungeon Lane, the new studio album from Paul McCartney, arrives this Friday, May 29.
The build-up to the record’s release has been a slow burn of activity from Sir Paul, who’s shared a couple of songs thus far and performed on the season finale of Saturday Night Live, in addition to helping wrap The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on May 21.
To kick off the final few days before the album is made fully available, a conversation between McCartney and Paul Mescal — the Irish actor acclaimed for his portrayal of William Shakespeare in 2025’s Hamnet and who will be portraying McCartney in Sam Mendes’ biopic in the works for a 2028 release — has been premiered.
Said Mescal of the experience: “It was one of the greatest personal and professional privileges of my life to sit down with Paul. To hear the stories behind The Boys of Dungeon Lane. To hear about his creative process. It’s a day I’ll never forget.”
