This is Eugenie and Beatrice’s big moment - Harry and Meghan have never needed them more
The Sussexes are back in the UK and it would be great to see them alongside Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back. Just a couple of months ago the idea of the Sussexes living in Britain again seemed preposterous. But here we are and I for one think it will be great to see the once much-loved “cheeky chappy” of the Royal Family out and about on home turf. While the exact location of the Sussexes’ new home has not been revealed, it’s thought that they’re making roots again in the Cotswolds. No doubt in the sort of multi-million-pound mansion most of us can only ever dream of even visiting.
There’s surely no doubt the couple will want to make contact and reunite with some of their old friends. When it comes to meeting up with family members, though, things become stickier. King Charles will no doubt be excited to know Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet are so close to his own Highgrove home.
But William and Kate are not likely to be in any rush to invite them over for a dinner party, and the likes of Zara and Mike Tindall, who have always been staunchly loyal to the Prince and Princess of Wales, probably won’t be breaking their backs to get in contact either.
So step forward Beatrice and Eugenie. They’ve always somehow managed to strike a balance between remaining close to Harry without it damaging their position with the rest of the family.
Harry’s cousins have gone through their own fair share of troubles, much like the Sussexes.

The princesses are forever tied to their father Andrew’s controversies whether deserved or not.
Meanwhile, Harry can’t escape from the claims he’s made about The Firm over the years, from his 2021 Oprah interview to the allegations in his memoir, Spare.
There’s plenty of common ground for the princesses and the Sussexes to chat about were they to meet up.
While the prince has seemingly begun working on his relationship with his father, earning the trust of his brother, Prince William, will be far harder.
Despite the quarrels that have taken place between the family over the years, I’d love to see everyone forgive and forget and put the past behind them.
And maybe Beatrice and Euegnie, who are not working royals, can help with this and be the perfect stepping stone for Harry to start building bridges with his family.

Prince Harry has previously spoken about his desire to reconcile with his family, most memorably in a BBC interview last year.
Beatrice has a home in the Cotswolds while Eugenie has a home in Portugal where Harry and Meghan also have a property.
It surely wouldn’t harm the Sussexes chances of getting the British public to warm to them again if they were spotted out and about with Beatrice or Eugenie and their families.
Pictures of William, Catherine and their kids hanging out with the Tindalls always help to give royal fans a small insight into what the family are really like behind closed doors.
You could argue that Harry and Meghan need their own loyal royal relatives to be pictured with at polo matches, Wimbledon or Ascot.
Princess Eugenie met Meghan Markle before Prince Harry did and she was also the first royal to visit the couple in California. So there’s clearly a genuine affection on all sides.
Beatrice and Eugenie have managed to keep their friendships with Harry and Meghan without alienating themselves from King Charles and Prince William. The sisters are in the perfect position to become the subtle peacemakers in Harry’s return to the UK.
It will take time. But hopefully they’ll win back the rest of the family’s trust in time and the royals can be one big happy family again.
