Meghan Markle's ‘secret weapon’ exposed as duchess tipped to pull ‘smart’ move

Meghan Markle should have stayed quiet amid her latest Hollywood “feud,” claims commentator.
Meghan Markle was brutally savaged by a royal commentator after making an “incredibly stupid” move amid her fresh row with Hollywood legend Martha Stewart. The Duchess of Sussex appeared to get involved in a fresh feud with the cooking legend when sources close to her dismissed Ms Stewart’s recent claims about her. The 85-year-old said she was at an event recently with the duchess and added that she heard her speak about her trip to the UK last month.
She said: “I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night. We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace. I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it.”

Days later, a source close to the duchess dismissed the claims and dubbed the cooking star “confused”.
They told the Mirror: “Meghan was asked by someone else about her European vacation and said it was nice, and that was the extent of it. I think (Ms Stewart) must have been confused.”
But a royal commentator blasted the duchess for letting “sources” set the record straight and start a new row with Ms Stewart.
The Daily Beast’s European Editor at Large, Tom Sykes, said: “If you look carefully at what Martha actually said, she was talking in pretty vague terms.
“She certainly wasn’t claiming Meghan was spilling every last detail of what happened at Highgrove [when the Sussexes met the King].”
He then said that Meghan then “did something incredibly stupid,” by having a source close to her dismiss the claims.
Mr Sykes said: “Implying that Martha, 85, is a dotty old lady is an incredibly stupid thing to do, especially for Meghan, who enjoys very little public goodwill.”
He added that Meghan should have “sucked it up” and gone with the late Queen’s life motto: “never complain, never explain”.
Mr Sykes concluded: “Meghan has made a big, big mistake here, and I don’t think we’ve heard the end of it. It’s the middle of August, traditionally a dead period for real news. If someone can get anything further out of Martha Stewart, what should have been a half-hour story will become a seven-day saga that dominates the news cycle. And how will Meghan react to that?”

Meghan Markle still possesses one great power that she can use to her advantage and turn the tide against her, a PR expert has claimed. The Duchess of Sussex, who is celebrating her 45th birthday today, is no stranger to negative feedback.
Meghan’s various moves have been criticised plenty by various royal watchers, while her attacks against the Royal Family after her departure from the Firm in 2020 are believed to have contributed to her decline in popularity among the public, who, in the majority, dislike her. However, over the last few years, the duchess has branched out into new areas in a bid to establish herself outside the Royal Family. And now a PR expert believes it’s exactly this approach that she needs to keep to succeed.

Brand and culture expert Nick Ede told Hello! magazine: “Meghan remains one of the most talked-about women in the world and, love her or loathe her, she has an undeniable ability to attract attention.
“For broadcasters, that level of interest is invaluable. It proves that her celebrity status is still incredibly powerful, even if opinions about her remain divided.”
Mr Ede added that Meghan needs to clarify to her audience what her “long-term identity” is and focus on one area where she can build “genuine authority”.
He said: “Lifestyle works when it feels authentic, but it needs to be rooted in her own experiences rather than aspiring to perfection. If lifestyle is what she’s about, she needs a strong relationship with a recognised retail partner.”
The PR expert added that keeping her business separate from her husband is a “smart” move, pointing to the Beckhams as a successful global brand.
Mr Ede concluded: “It enables each of them to develop an individual identity. That said, there is huge value in Brand Sussex when they come together around shared values and purpose.”
