The Chase descends into chaos as host Bradley Walsh ‘walks off’ after hilarious wrong answer
BRADLEY Walsh grew so frustrated on The Chase last night that he marched off.
The host, 62, made an about-turn and headed for the exit after a question about the word “suave”.
However, the 62-year-old quickly returned, sighing: “This is tough to take after all this work.”
The drama came during a showdown between a contestant called Jane and Wednesday’s Chaser, Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis.
Her round on The Chase was unravelled by the question: “The term ‘suave’ comes from a Latin word with what meaning?”
The options were sweet, sour or salty – and the player choose sour, much to Bradley‘s horror.
When he saw what she’d put, he held his face in his hands saying: “When someone’s suave they are smooth, charming.
“It’s a Latin word that means sweet. Sugary. Saccharine.”
Darragh, 43, insisted: “He does not know this by the way.” But seconds later it was proved that he did.
Bradley threw his hands into the air and walked away from The Chase’s famous console while shaking his head.
He told Jane: “All this way. If The Chaser’s put sweet you’re out. I think he’s going to know it. This is tough to take – after all that work.”
Darragh got the question right – dashing her hopes of bagging the £7,000 and eliminating her from the round.
He reasoned: “It was the only one that made sense.”
