Bradley Walsh was left amazed on The Chase after retired Scottish cheesemaker Annie survived a nerve-racking head-to-head against Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan — despite admitting she had no idea about one of the answers.

Annie was the final contestant to face Jenny after Mark, Izzie and James had already taken their turns at the table. Earlier, she revealed that she had lost the diamond engagement ring her partner had given her and hoped any winnings could help her replace it.

She put together an impressive £8,000 in the Cash Builder before Jenny offered her three choices: minus £1,000, the £8,000 she had earned, or a huge £73,000.

Annie decided not to gamble on the high offer and stuck with £8,000.

A Guess That Left Bradley Gobsmacked

The head-to-head quickly became tense as Jenny began closing the gap.

Bradley then asked Annie which film featured the line: “He does dress better than I do, what would I bring to the relationship?”

Her options were Clueless, Cruel Intentions and Never Been Kissed.

Annie openly admitted she had no idea and was forced to guess.

When her answer was revealed to be correct, Bradley could barely believe it.

“Oh what a guess, you are a step closer to home. What a guess that is,” he exclaimed.

But Annie still needed one more correct answer to escape Jenny and secure her place in the Final Chase.

Her next question concerned the name of a gorilla at London Zoo. This time, Annie got it right and immediately threw her arms into the air, shouting “yes” as she made it safely back to the team.

Annie eventually joined Mark in the Final Chase, with the pair playing for a combined £15,000.

They came agonisingly close to taking the money home, but Jenny recovered from her earlier struggles and caught them with only three seconds remaining.

Despite the defeat, Bradley had warm words for Annie.

“Annie, you have been absolutely enchanting and great fun, I hope you have enjoyed it,” he told her.

Jenny also admitted that the Final Chase had been far from comfortable, saying she had struggled to establish her usual rhythm.

For Annie, the episode ended without the replacement engagement ring she had hoped to win — but her remarkable blind guess and narrow escape from The Vixen gave Bradley one of the biggest surprises of the game.
